July: A Pop City Life recap

As the summer reached its height, Pop City Life interviewed cast members of MTV’s Scream, Freeform’s Guilt, and blockbuster movie Star Trek Beyond, and continued to recap some of your summer programming favorites. Read on for our Pop City Life recap of July.

Toward the beginning of the month, Nicola had the distinct honor (and she does mean honor) of interviewing Bex Taylor-Klaus. Topics of conversation ranged from what to expect from the rest of Scream season 2 to Bex’s staunch commitment to LGBTQ+ advocacy and equality.

Meanwhile, Rose chatted exclusively with Jason Bell, who plays Captain Kirk’s No. 1 security guard in the summer box office hit Star Trek Beyond. An accomplished stuntman, Bell spoke about the most dangerous stunts he’s ever accomplished, as well as his passions for hot sauce and playing the blues.

Additionally, Nicola interviewed Daisy Head, star of Freeform’s Guilt, and Noelle spoke with Sloane Morgan Siegel about playing the titular character on the Amazon show Gortimer Gibbon’s Life On Normal Street.

In terms of recaps, Nicola continued covering Freeform’s The Fosters and TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles, the latter of which is rapidly approaching its series finale on Sept. 5.

To end our Pop City Life recap, we’d like to congratulate our friends at Puffs, or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic, who are preparing for a recently announced off-Broadway run. Last month, Noelle interviewed Puffs writer Matt Cox and chatted with six members of the cast, so we can officially say we knew them before they hit the big time!
