Look, let me preface this post by announcing right off the bat that I do not generally consider myself to be a rap/hip-hop/R&B fan. I definitely don’t have a vendetta against the genre or anything, I just tend to prefer my singers female and hitting notes way up in the stratosphere. You know what I mean?
But! I had a few friends involved with the production of a new artist, and their excitement for the things they were creating was catching. The artist’s name is Charlie Rose, and he’s going to be doing some great things. Having the privilege to watch this album come to fruition, from the early days of recording and slowly releasing preview tracks on SoundCloud to the countdown to release, was really something special.

American Idol Season 11’s Top 5 will be tackling songs from the 60’s tonight. And not only that, they each get a second song from a genre of British Pop. The song spoilers are out and it looks like we’ve got quite a selection. Contestants will also be performing in a duet and a trio. Hmm. Out of all of these songs, who would you like to see sing them?
Spoilers:
60’s:
Aint Too Proud To Beg – The Temptations
The Letter – The Box Tops
Proud Mary – Ike and Tina Turner
Fortunate Son – Creedence Clearwater Revival
River Deep, Mountain High – Ike and Tina Turner (love this song!)
British Pop:
To Love Somebody – The Bee Gees
Time of the Season – The Zombies
Bleeding Love – Leona Lewis
You Are So Beautiful – Joe Cocker
You Don’t Have To Love Me – Dusty Springfield
Duet/Trio:
Higher and Higher – Jackie Wilson
You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling – The Righteous Brothers
Who are your picks for these songs? Off the top of my head, I can see Jessica Sanchez performing Leona Lewis and Phillip Phillips singing You Are So Beautiful. He’s the heartthrob this season after all.
I’m excited for these songs. I love me some oldies! The themes so far haven’t given contestants a chance to explore much of them. Even if you’re a youngin’ you can still appreciate good music. They’re Oldies but Goodies after all!
Leave your picks for tonight in the comments!
Is this the last Glee prom? It seems like only yesterday Jesse was fighting Finn and getting kicked out while Puck sang Rebecca Black. The prom will apparently be dinosaur themed as evidenced by the episode title: Prom-a-saurus. Something tells me Brittany is behind this. Here are the song spoilers we can expect from the episode.
Spoilers:
Big Girls Don’t Cry (ugh)
What Makes You Beautiful
Dinosaur
Love You Like A Love Song
Take My Breath Away
Thanks to various spoilery tumblrs for the heads up.
Nationals is almost upon us on this final season of Glee before everything changes. What can we expect New Directions to perform at their final competition together? Some Gaga and some Celine to give you a taste. Check out the setlist after the cut!
Spoilers:
Our sources, who attended the taping, revealed that the McKinley High singers will perform three songs: Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory,” Celine Dion’s “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now” and Meat Loaf’s “Paradise By the Dashboard Light.”
All of the “Glee” regulars, as well as Rory (Damien McGinty), Joe (Samuel Larsen) and Sam (Chord Overstreet) perform. And we hear that Quinn (Dianna Agron) will be back on her feet dancing!
Vocal Adrenaline perform two numbers: Nicki Minaj’s “Starships” and The Who’s “Pinball Wizards.”
Wade (Alex Newwell) returns to lead that squad, and he sings his performances in drag.
The judges at nationals are Perez Hilton, Rex Lee and Lindsay Lohan. Perez and Rex were filmed during the awards ceremony, but Lindsay was noticeably absent. As of publishing time, they’re only halfway through their shooting day, so Lindsay may be shooting her scenes later.
