Upon hearing the news that Mary Poppins will be ending its run on Broadway, fans of Disney on Broadway wondered what would take the place of the hit musical. Joining the legendary runs of The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, Disney is giving fans Aladdin. Set to hit the Broadway stage in Spring of 2014, the musical is playing a pre-Broadway performance at the Ed Mirvish Theatre in Toronto from November 13 to January 12th, 2014. No word yet on who will be cast in the musical but someone please check Lea Salonga’s schedule.
I am so excited about this! I definitely want to get tickets asap. 2014 seems like an eternity away.
Jonathan Groff, known for his roles in Spring Awakening and Glee, is officially voicing the lead role of Kristoff in Disney’s upcoming animated movie Frozen. Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel are also included in the cast. The movie, loosely based on The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen, opens in theaters November 27th, 2013.

‘Beauty and the Beast,’ ‘Finding Nemo,’ ‘Monsters, Inc.’ and ‘The Little Mermaid’ Will Make 3D Theatrical Debut in 2012 and 2013
On the heels of the phenomenal success of The Lion King 3D – which will cross the $80 million mark at the domestic box office today – The Walt Disney Studios has announced limited theatrical engagements for four of its classic films for the first time in 3D. The following titles from Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios will be released in 2012 and 2013:
· Beauty and the Beast – January 13, 2012
· Disney•Pixar’s Finding Nemo – September 14, 2012
· Disney•Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. – January 18, 2013 (Monsters University, a prequel to the original film, arrives in theaters in Disney Digital 3D on June 21, 2013)
· The Little Mermaid – September 13, 2013
I understand Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid..but Monster’s Inc? Finding Nemo will probably be a classic in a few more years but is it really ready for a re-release?

Ramon Reed is set to showcase his many musical talents and theatre background as Eddie in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of 13: The Musical. Originally a Broadway production, the Netflix adaptation unites an impressive and exciting cast. No stranger to Broadway himself, Ramon Reed joins a cast that includes Debra Messing, Josh Peck, Frankie McNellis, and Rhea Pearlman.
13: The Musical follows the story of Evan who has set out to plan the ultimate Bar Mitzvah before life reveals it has other plans. The movie will be released on Netflix on August 12, 2022.
