I know I’m not the only 90s fan that’s pretty thrilled about this. Not only is a sequel to Independence Day actually happening, it has an official release date. 20th Century Fox has announced that a sequel to the hit blockbuster is set to be released July 3rd 2015. This is almost 19 years since the original movie hit theaters July 2nd 1996.
Independence Day starred Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Harry Connick Jr., and Randy Quaid.
So far there’s no word on what cast members will return for the Roland Emmerich film but there are rumors that Bill Pullman has signed on. We’ll be sure to post any updates as they come in.

Kristin Chenoweth is headed back to your TV screens! The multi-talented star is set to appear in a new sitcom for TV Land. Kirstie Alley’s new sitcom Kirstie has just landed three fabulous guest stars. Along with Kristin, Kristen Johnson and Cloris Leachman will also be appearing in guest starring roles. According to TV Guide, Kristin is set to play Britney Gold, “a conniving and ambitious snake of an understudy who will do anything — or anyone — to get onstage.”
Kristin is always hilarious in anything she appears in so we think she’ll be perfect in this role. Most recently, we loved her appearance on Kathy. She’s even more charming and personable when she’s with her friends. We would love to hang out with Kristin, Josh Groban, and Kathy Griffin. Sounds like a party to us!
Kirstie is set to premiere on TV Land later this year.
