
Most of us are familiar with the movie Mary Poppins—the magical nanny who flies in one day and takes two children on whimsical adventures. We remember the great Julie Andrews as the titular nanny, the comical perfection of Dick Van Dyke as jack-of-all-trades Bert, and especially the timeless songs. Saving Mr. Banks tells two stories of Mary Poppins that most people haven’t heard: firstly, the struggle between entertainment titan Walt Disney and the author of the original Mary Poppins books, P.L. Travers, over the rights to make the iconic movie; secondly, it tells the story of P.L. Travers’s troubled childhood and the events that led to the arrival of her own Mary Poppins figure. The result is a film that both tickles our funny bones and tugs at our heartstrings.

This is not a drill! Alexz Johnson is releasing new music! The multi-talented actress and singer (who just may be one of my favorite vocalists ever) is primed and ready to release her new musical project. Alexz has been plenty busy this year. In addition to gearing up for the release of her new EP and her latest single, she will be kicking off a tour in Europe alongside Ron Pope & Wakey!Wakey!.

Bitten, the new supernatural thriller from SyFy, is based on the New York Times best-selling novels “Women of the Otherworld” by Kelley Armstrong. The series is starring Laura Vandervoort as Elena Michaels, the lone female werewolf in existence. The talented actress previously appeared on Smallville, V, and Instant Star.
Bitten also stars Greg Bryk (A History of Violence) as werewolf Pack “Alpha” Jeremy Danvers, Greyston Holt (Alcatraz) as Elena’s werewolf ex-boyfriend Clayton Danvers, and Paul Greene (The Client List) as Elena’s current beau, Philip McAdams.
