Eric Nies is a face familiar to anyone who grew up watching MTV. One of reality television’s first and brightest stars, Eric appeared in the very first season of MTV’s The Real World. The Real World: New York went on to shatter boundaries and inspire important conversations that are still relevant today.
Following his time on the series, Eric Nies went on to host The Grind, Dance Fever, and was a fan-favorite appearing on multiple seasons of The Real World/Road Rules Challenge.

Hang on to your hats, Challenge fans! There have been many changes over the years when it comes to MTV’s hit reality competition series The Challenge. An evolving cast that spans decades and cast members from The Real World, Road Rules, Are You The One, and more has made sure the show is kept fresh. But for OG fans, it was hard to accept that some of the original faces we grew up with weren’t going to be on the show anymore.

It’s understandable. People grow up, grow older, and move on with their lives. But it was always a possibility, a hope, and a dream for fans that one day, MTV would consider bringing back some of our original favorite cast members. Enter Mark Long.

Whoa. Did anyone else tune in last night to The Real World: Portland? There was an explosive fight between cast members Nia, Averey, and Johnny. The crazy part is, it’s only part 1 of the fight! It’s hard to believe there can be more to a fight that was already so intense. I’m so used to MTV promoting these huge brawls and then panning the cameras away. I didn’t expect to see all of this.
The Real World: Portland airs Wednesdays on MTV.

Are you ready for yet another new season of MTV’s reality series The Real World? The dramatic staple is now headed into the 28th season for the show. The new season, taking place in Portland, premieres Wednesday, March 27th and if the trailer is any indication, this season is “crazier than ever” and the season of issues…AKA just another season of The Real World.
Watch the trailer for the new season here:
Do you guys have a favorite season of The Real World? Ours would probably have to be the season of Brooklyn. Maybe we’re partial because we’re New Yorkers, but that season was so interesting. It also happened to feature one of our favorite cast members of all time, Chet Cannon. Actually does anyone remember the bromance he had with his housemate Ryan? Good times. Other memorable seasons for us include San Diego, Austin, and Las Vegas.
I have to say it’s nice to see the show back in a city like Portland. I’ve grown tired and bored of the recent seasons where it seems the cast does nothing but party and fight in a location that seems like the perfect fit for that. I wonder what the house will be like this season. After staying in a hotel in Vegas or a miami hotel with jacuzzi in room, I wonder if a house in Portland will live up to the hype.
