Joy to the world, the day has come! Game of Thrones is back for its all new season 4 full of tension, plotting and blood. A first episode where all the characters are facing the aftermath of the previous 3rd season and new plots are slowly building up.
So previously on Game of Thrones. Well not really a surprise the first minutes of the show is a little sum up in case you’ve been asleep during the last seasons. Daenerys preparation for war, the Lannisters’ wedding plan, Jaime’s terrible journey, Jon Snow’s dilemma…the Red Wedding as if we had forgotten it and even Ned Stark beheading (as if we needed to remember it). Welcome back in Westeros everyone.
The waiting is almost over! HBO announced that its bloody drama will be back for its 4th season on april 6th. It’s a week later than last year.
This little change was expected as HBO wants to skirt the competition that Game of Thrones faced from “The Walking Dead” in 2013. The new season of AMC’s horror show will wrap on March 30.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s novel, Game of Thrones is one of HBO’s biggest shows. Last season finale brought more than 6 million viewers.
The first teaser of the season 4 will be aired this sunday on HBO.
Blood and sex are a sort of HBO-Trademark we find now in all their TV shows. Game of Thrones is one among many. The show became famous for its bloody and sex scenes but also for the killing of numerous characters including some majors.
Exactly like in the novels written by George R.R. Martin, the show killed several people. From battlefields to memorable scenes like the Red Wedding, from an unnamed soldier to Ned Stark, the producers decided to pay a tribute to all them via an “In memoriam” video revealed at the Comic-Con. Even if the tone sounds at first formal and sad, it’s obvious HBO is making some fun of its long list of dead when including “Old Dude” or “Baratheon Soldiers #43-58” in the list.
Early this morning, the nominations for the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced by Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother?) who will also host the ceremony this year.
The big leaders of those nominations are American Horror Story with 17 nominations, followed by Game of Thrones 16 noms while Netflix’s House of Cards became the first online series to be nominated. Homeland, Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family are unsurprisingly still competing in several categories.
