I’m not really sure why it has taken me so long to watch this. It’s been making the rounds on twitter for weeks. It’s a hilarious video recap of the entire series of Make It Or Break It..so far. It’s quick. It’s witty. It’s true. So if you were on the fence about tuning in to Make It Or Break It (Watch it!) then this video is for you.
Video:
Bay and Emmett’s relationship is once again thrown into the fires of the hell that is divorce. Bay is suddenly thrown into the middle of the custody battle between Emmett’s parents. Melody needs a statement from Bay about the unhealthy environment Emmett wants to live in. Bay has absolutely no idea what to do. Emmett makes her promise to stay out of it but something inside of her thinks Emmett is on a bad path.
Daphne is feeling the pressure big time when her team makes it to a big championship game. Everyone is counting on her and fans who look up to her for inspiring other deaf kids are traveling to see the game. The game is against Buckner and Simone is in town begging Daphne for forgiveness. Not happening. After Simone fouls Daphne (was it on purpose?) Carlton wins the game. There’s not much time for celebrating when an official from the school announces the program will probably still be cut for budget reasons. Womp womp womp.
Emmett has made it abundantly clear that he wants to stay with his dad because of the freedom. Is there a little too much of that in the house? Toby and Bay visit to check out Emmett’s motorcycle for a birthday present they’re planning and discover a ton of pot in the garage. They realize Olivia is selling drugs and alarm bells are already going off in Bay’s head. Even Emmett’s dad isn’t happy about it and offers to ask Olivia to move out when Bay mentions it to him.
Emmett’s dad finds him to tell him he’ll be giving full custody over to Melody to stop the fighting. He knows he can’t win in this situation and it’s what is best for Emmett. Emmett believes he just doesn’t want to be around him anymore and is PISSED when he finds out Bay is apart of it. So pissed in fact that he ends his night having sex with Simone in her hotel room. Like. WHAT?
This show is getting so boring. I’m having trouble making it through the episodes at this point. I could probably sum up this episode in a few words but for the sake of the recap I guess I can ramble. Michael and Julia carry on with their rekindled affair and it’s gross. Affairs are rarely likeable. Is it that hard to break up with your partner beforehand? And when you have a kid? With eyes? Who is watching you makeout with your new boyfriend from his bedroom window?
Ivy is a bit sick and tired of Derek’s habit of humiliating her in front of everyone in the workshop instead of treating her like the goddess she is. The final straw comes when Derek asks Karen to show Ivy how it’s done and to give her lessons after hours. I hate that they’re making Ivy a villain. She is still so much better than Karen for the part. It’s just laughable at this point. Karen’s biggest worry of the episode is how sexy she can be in a revealing dress that she apparently proves to herself by publicly making out in a car. I just. Whatever.
This episode was a bit of filler. I feel like this happened last year. The episodes leading up to the epic finales are usually used to set them up. If that’s the case..what the heck is this show setting up? Aria is showing what I can only assume is brain damage in this episode. Or a severe lack of judgment. When it comes to Vivian’s friend from last week, she is just way too trusting.
She meets up with him and finds out that he spent most of the summer before Ail disappeared with her. And he knew her name wasn’t really Vivian either. He even saw her the weekend she disappeared. How many people did Alison see that weekend?? That is one long list. He then tells Aria he can’t tell her anything unless she gets in a small plane with him. What the hell? And then she does. And he forces her to fly it. What the hell am I watching? Who is this kid? And why was he flying Alison to town hours before she told the girls she arrived?
Toby is back in town and he’s back to tagging along with Jenna. He’s also kind of a douche. Hanna tries to knock some sense into him to see if he remembers what Jenna did to him and why he stopped being her lapdog in the first place. Toby just snaps at her that he knows exactly what he’s doing. Then he asks if she remembers what they did to her. What the heck? Since when does Toby throw that in their faces? What changed so fast? I’m getting suspicious of him. And of Maya. Is it really her that’s texting and emailing Emily? Is she dead?
The parents are in on the drama this week too. Byron and Ezra exchange words after Ella pays a visit to Fitz to ask if he knows anyone who would want to hurt Aria. Ezra tells him he won’t be taking the job and he’s here to stay. I wonder how that will go over? Spencer’s mom is furious when she notices Spencer inviting Jason over to the house. She doesn’t want him around at all. She then tells Spencer that it was her who hired the detective for 15 grand. So..what does this mean?
Jason is around because someone dropped off a bag of Ali’s things on his back porch. Jason assumes it was Maya because it’s a bunch of things that Maya’s family had found left behind. It’s just a bunch of girly stuff that doesn’t mean much until they give it a second look. The girls realize all of the items are wrapped in a newspaper from 2009. They think Ali highlighted parts of the paper and wrapped it herself as a clue. Hanna goes back to retrieve the bag when she realizes Jason’s house is on fire. Trapped inside is Jenna. Hanna manages to pull her out from the house right before it explodes. Whoa! Who would want the house to explode?
Jason is thankfully alive and still pretty. Someone texted Jenna to go inside Jason’s house before knocking her out. The end of the episode shows A placing a badge on the front porch. Is Garrett being framed? If Garrett didn’t do it..who did?
Bay walks in on some heartbreaking news. Daphne and Regina are watching the news and see that a helicopter from Ty’s group crashed and the soldiers inside have been killed. No one knows if Ty is inside and the entire family is on edge waiting for news.
Throughout all of this, Emmett is pissed because he realizes Bay has kept in touch with Ty. Because exchanging emails is basically cheating and a legit reason to be jealous. Can she not have friends that are guys? What is his problem? I’m getting kind of over him lately. He’s so pissy about the whole thing that he drops out of his speech therapy class. What a wiener.
Fortunately, Ty is okay. He wasn’t in the crash. He even calls Bay to let her know. I missed the actor on this show. He’s off playing Lying Games. Bay gives in to her love for Emmett (even though he demands to read the emails she sends Ty) and tells Ty she’s seeing someone else. I didn’t realize he thought she was waiting for him. Part of me wants them to get back together now.
Daphne and Wilkie are also having some trouble. Wilkie has so far refused to learn or take sign language seriously. He’s more interested in making out. Daphne runs into a rude kid at Carlton who enjoys talking down to her for moving on to live a posh life with hearing people. When Daphne gets him fired from his job at the school, she feels guilty and hooks him up with one at John’s car wash. John fires him immediately for flipping off a customer. Daphne goes to visit him at his home and sees his family life pretty much sucks. No one in his family has bothered to learn sign language and basically don’t communicate with him. Will there be a love interest here in the future?
There’s just trouble in paradise all around. Are John and Kathryn next? Am I sensing something between Kathryn and the lawyer? Kathryn learns that Angelo got his information on the hospital from a reliable source. Who is the source?
