FOX president Kevin Reilly has just confirmed at the 2013 TCA Summer press tour that season 6 of Glee will likely be the last. The news follows the death of Glee star Cory Monteith. The network has already outlined how the third episode back will deal with killing off the character of Finn.
Not wanting to pass up any possible chances to milk the show for all it’s worth, the boss told the press “Never say never.”
Via TVLine:
Never say never, but… there’s two very clear arcs to get to that end and conclude [the series],” Reilly told reporters when asked about an end date for Glee at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills. “If we discover a new crop of kids and there’s some breakout, who knows. But right now, we’re thinking about two seasons.”
Personally, I think two is too many. The show stopped being what it once was and could have been a long time ago. I think the series will experience a very big ratings jump for the Finn tribute episode but will steadily decline afterwards.
The season 5 premiere of Glee was pushed back to September 26th.
