Singer/songwriter Sammi Sanchez is no stranger to original compositions, but she still finds time to record covers as well. Check out her take on Ride by Twenty One Pilots below:
You may recognize Sammi Sanchez from Megan Nicole’s 2015 Sweet Dreams Tour, but if you’re new to her music, we’ve got you covered. First, here’s the music video for her current single, Girls Talk. The song was (unfortunately) inspired by a personal experience. Here’s what she has to say about what went down and how she ended up putting it to music:
“I dated a guy for a couple of months and later found out that he was talking to three other girls at the same time. They were all my friends, and we put the pieces together one night when we were all on a Skype call together. I came into the studio and turned it into a song that I feel many people can relate to.”
Sammi’s Girls Talk co-writers include Melanie Fontana (Home This Christmas, Justin Bieber) and Sam Sumser (Zipper, Jason Derulo). Another contributor, Koko LaRoo, wrote for Nicki Minaj and is featured on Felix Cartal’s After Dark and Greg Cerrone’s Rise Together.
If you like what you hear, head to iTunes and Spotify for more of Sammi’s music. She’s also frequently featured on Radio Disney, and received national airplay on Sirius XM Radio as well. And there’s more good news: The 18-year-old 2016 Taco Bell Feed the Beat artist is working on an EP! In a nod to her Hispanic roots, Sammi’s debut EP will feature songs in both Spanish and English. But if you can’t wait until the EP’s fall release to hear Sammi tackle some Spanish-language songs, you’re in luck! Check out her amazing cover of Duele El Corazón by Enrique Iglesias.
Best of luck to Sammi Sanchez as she continues chasing her dreams! Keep up with the latest by following Sammi on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
