On your mark. Get set. Go!
Thinking of heading on over to San Diego Comic-Con this year? Well, if you were a fan of Nickelodeon in the ’90s, this sounds like the perfect year for you. An All That reunion featured at last year’s New York convention was an epic, can’t-miss event. This year, San Diego Comic-Con is joining forces with original host Marc Summers to bring Double Dare back! The hit game show – and the sloppiest, slimiest, whipped-creamiest way to spend an afternoon as a kid – is returning for one night only.
EW first reported that Nickelodeon programming block The Splat is behind Double Dare‘s return to celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary.
The network has enlisted original host Marc Summers to return, for the first time in 16 years, to the Double Dare set for a live edition of the game show that’ll dominate one night of San Diego Comic-Con this year.
But why one night only? I would do so many things to be able to pick that giant nose for a flag.
And while you’re at it, Nerdist reports that there will be plenty of ’90s Nick swag available at the event. Who doesn’t want a plush version of Spunky from Rocko’s Modern Life or a Reptar vinyl from Rugrats??
When we interviewed Ross Hull from the classic Nick series Are You Afraid of the Dark?, his tales about the show’s mini reunion really left us wanting more! Are you anticipating more ’90s Nick goodness later this year at New York Comic Con? Here’s hoping! Let us know your thoughts below.
