“I’m going off to a house and entering it like a snake… I will devour their babes and make their hearts ache”.
In this new episode of Grimm, called “Mommy Dearest”, Adalind is about to deliver her baby. Captain Renard’s friend is helping her. Finally the baby is born.
Meanwhile, in Portland, a pregnant woman is attacked in her house by a horrible creature.
This woman, Dana, is a friend of Sergeant Wu (Reggie Lee). He runs to help her, and she manages to whisper something to him: “Aswang”.
Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) are called to investigate the attack. Nick notices some scratches on the window, and on a tree outside the house. A witness also recalls a ticking sound coming from the window and a shadow moving, when she arrived to rescue Dana.
At the hospital, the doctor says that Dana’s baby is fine, but that her amniotic fluid was sucked out of her.
Once Dana’s husband is alone, he calls his brother in Manila. The man tells him that something like that was meant happen. Dana’s husband says that he can’t do that to his wife, and when the other man tells him there’s
no other choice, we suddenly see Dana’s husband turning into a wesen, the same kind that attacked Dana.
Wu is sleeping, and having a dream. We see Dana whispering to him “Aswang” again. The Aswang is a creature that feast on babies of pregnant women. It is Wu’s grandmother who’s explaining this to him when he was just a
little boy.
Back in the Swiss Alps, Captain Renard is informed that Adalind’s baby is a girl.
Nick and Hank talk to Rosalee and Monroe about the attack, and she explains that in ancient rituals it was believed that the health and youth of a baby can be absorbed.
Dana’s husband meets his mother, and she tells him she’s going to die in a month. She is the creature who was trying to use Dana’s baby to regain her health. She is an Aswang, and so is Dana’s husband. Dana’s husband though refuses to give up his baby to his mother.
Nick, Hank, Rosalee and Monroe find out in Nick’s trailer all the informations about the Aswang, but they decide not to share those informations with Wu, since he doesn’t know about Nick being a Grimm and the wesen’s
world.
Wu though later tells them that he knows about a myth, a creature called Aswang, and he believes Dana’s husband attacked his wife and then tried to make it look like some sort of supernatural event.
Wu later goes to Dana’s house, to check that everything is fine. He sees Dana’s mother-in- law arriving to the house.
She wants to kill Dana’s baby, and she attacks her son first. Wu breaks into the house, and he sees Dana’s mother-in-law as an Aswang.
Terrified, he is attacked too. He is rescued by Nick and Hank.
Wu is in shock, and he is brought to an hospital, where he refuses to talk. Nick and Hank go see him, he’s clearly
traumatized by what he saw, but Nick and Hank still decide not to tell him anything about wesen. Has Wu gone crazy?
