After thinking they would all die with the nuclear bomb launched by the army, the people of Chester’s Mill has to face the idea the Dome is unbreakable. Everybody starts to worry about what’s coming next especially when they’ll run out of everything. Starting by the water, after a truck accidentally hit a water pipe.
Unfortunately for them, the other only source of water is the lake but soon Barbie and Linda discovered it may be poisoned as they found the lake’s fish dead on the shore. At Big Jim’s office they explain him it’s full of methane. Big Jim decides to take care of this situation until his son asks him for his help with Angie.
Indeed, as they didn’t die, Angie and Junior were still together in her bedroom. He tried to reassure her “I’m a deputy now, people trusts me. Whatever happens, I’ll take care of you.” Knowing what happened the last time he took care of her, Angie hit him in the head and ran away. Big Jim refuses to help his son preferring to deal with the crisis starting in the town.
Norrie’s mom is in bad condition, being diabetes she needs insulin but they’re running out of insulin. But being a good girl, Norrie decides to look for some. She takes the list of diabetics in Chester’s Mill and plans to break into their house to steal their dose. Joe thinks it’s a stupid idea but joins her.
At the grocery store, there’s a big crisis. Everybody tries to steal as many food and supplies they can. Linda decides to do something and asks Barbie for help. She then sees Junior in his car trying to find Angie but Linda stops him and orders him to do his job as her deputy.
Meanwhile, a weird screech is running across broadcast frequencies. Dodee at the radio station tells Julia it’s coming from inside the town and both decide to find where the source is.
Angie finally arrives in the town center and precisely outside of the grocery store. She spots Junior inside but he can’t get out, prevented by all the people and panic inside. So she takes it as an opportunity to run away and go to Rose’s diner, hoping to find a sort of shelter. She tells Rose everything who at first refuse to believe Big Jim refused to free her when he discovered her. Angie cries “who is going to believe me?”, “I do,” Rose finally says.
Norrie finally finds a home where there’s insulin but when she learns it’s for a very young boy, she decides to steal only one bottle and but the rest back into the fridge. On their way back to the hospital, they meet Dodee and Julia who discover the signal is coming from them. Joe decides to tell them about the seizure they have every time they touch and shows the videos they did. No doubt, this two are linked.
The situation in the city goes out of control. Pillars break into Rose’s diner and attack her and Angie. One of them kills Rose with a baseball bat and Angie got hit on her head, falling unconscious. She is later found and saved by Barbie.
Suddenly it rains weirdly only inside the dome and everybody calms down. “Maybe the Dome tries to reassure us,” Julia thinks. Big Jim orders everyone to collect as much water as they can. Barbie arrives at this moment with Angie in his arms and asks him to drive her to the hospital. He then announces that Rose is dead.
After such a terrible day, everybody goes back home. Barbie walks under the water when a car appears behind him. It’s Julia. She gets out and after all the stress of the last 24 hours, they both kiss before heading to the car hand in hand.
Angie finally wakes up but discovers she is not at the hospital but at Big Jim’s house. He reassures her, the door is opened and she can leave but at first he hopes they can come to an arrangement: she says nothing about what happen and he promises to help her. Food, water, battery, money, protection from Junior…she can have all this for her and her brother in exchange of her silence. But before she has the time to give her answer the door opens…and Junior comes in.
