Galavant returned last night to remind us all why the comedy extravaganza is one of the best things ABC has given us in a long time. With the premiere of the second season last night came the return of me laughing out loud until I practically cried thanks to Darren Evans.

It’s been a hell of a year, TV-wise. Some shows’ ratings dipped while others soared. We said goodbye to some old favorites and welcomed some new ones into our hearts. Is it just me or is Galavant starting to sound better and better? The upcoming musical fairy tale series from ABC just added another dashing face to the cast list. And I’m not talking about Timothy O’Mundson’s beard, which, on its own, is quite dashing and magical. John Stamos is set to guest star on the series as a knight and rival to Joshua Sasse’s lead character Galavant. John’s character will appear in one episode but has the possibility to becoming recurring. I think that’s a good idea.
“He’s funny as hell, and he sings, and he looks like Lancelot wishes he looked,” executive producer Dan Fogelman told ABC News. “We can’t wait!”
Galavant will feature music from Alan Menken. That alone should be reason enough to tune in when the series premieres mid-season on ABC.

Galavant is coming! ABC is looking to find out what happens when you combine a musical comedy with fairy tales, Alan Menken, and a talented cast. Galavant will be joining the network’s lineup as a mid-season addition. The series stars Joshua Sasse along with former Psych star Timothy O’Mundson.
Following the ABC upfronts this week, the network released a first look trailer for the musical comedy to give fans a taste at what they can expect. In a television world where crime and medical drama reign supreme, Galavant looks like a breath of fresh air. Can you really go wrong with Alan Menken?
