The 2013 Teen Choice Awards have been announced and nominations are starting to be released. The “first wave” of nominations have been announced and fans can begin voting online at www.teenchoiceawards.com immediately. Twilight has, no surprise, dominated the movie categories with seven nominations. Happily, however, The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Logan Lerman have also received nominations. That movie was amazing and I’m happy it’s getting some recognition. Over in the television categories, ABC Family score some nominations with Pretty Little Liars snagging three nominations. Switched at Birth, Glee, and pleasantly enough Hawaii Five-0 were also nominated for several categories.
The two hour even will air live on August 11th on FOX.

Normally, I wouldn’t be that excited for the MTV Movie Awards. This year however, I’m looking forward to it. This will be the first year in a long, long time that the show won’t be the Twilight awards. This marks the first time in a long, long time that the movies nominated are actually movies that could give us a good night of television. Movies from Silver Linings Playbook, Django Unchained, and Perks of Being a Wallflower and Ted all have the most nominations. I’m so happy to see Perks getting the recognition it deserves, even if it’s just MTV.
The awards air April 14th on MTV with Rebel Wilson as the host.
