How well do the stars of Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway know each other? People tried to find out by enlisting stars Adam Jacobs and Courtney Reed to play their Costar Challenge. They were each asked a variety of questions that included everything from favorite musicals and Disney characters to where they grew up and went to school.

Forget everything that you think you know about the group Il Volo. The Italian pop-opera trio consisting of Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble, just wrapped up a successful North American tour for the Summer of 2014. Not to be confused with Il Divo, this extremely talented trio is proving that power ballads and big voices aren’t just for a certain audience anymore.
Il Volo manages to do the unexpected — combine a setlist of power ballads, opera, pop, musical theatre and more, and conquer an audience of all ages. I’m talking a screaming and dedicated audience of all ages. If Andrea Bocelli, Frank Sinatra and David Archuleta had kids with the Jonas Brothers, the result would be Il Volo…and all in really cute vests.

Lovesick Saints, a punk/alternative rock trio out of Arizona, have just released their new music video to go along with their latest EP Dia De Los Muertos. Their song “War Story” is described as “a heart-felt punk rock tribute to all those who fought and sacrificed their lives for our freedom”. With Memorial Day just passing by, it’s the perfect time to check this out.
Consisting of 6 tracks, “Dia De Los Muertos” takes an early punk influence and attempts to incorporate modern punk sounds with a gritty story.

We take a listen to a young singer and songwriter from Brooklyn who has found herself in her music. Christina Rubino blends an Americana/Acoustic sound with heartfelt lyrics in her recent release. Consisting of ten tracks, “A(Live) from the Scrapheap” effectively tells a story that can only be told properly through music. Christina Rubino attempts to bare her soul with this release and we sat down to take a listen.

New York Comic Con just got bigger. “New York Super Week” will be the first of its kind. It will feature a week long festival of events showcasing the best of music, TV, and film. This celebration is looking to take over New York during the beginning of October. Dozens of events at major venues will take place throughout New York City beginning on October 3rd and ending on the 12th.
