Following a breakout role in the blockbuster movie Black Panther, Tristan and Tyler Timmons can now be seen starring in the new HBO series Euphoria. Starring alongside Zendaya, the acting duo star as Troy and Roy in the much buzzed about new show.
We spoke with the brothers about starting out creating their own YouTube videos, what viewers can expect from the new episodes of Euphoria, and what else they’re working on.

What motivated you to initially pursue acting as your career? How did you make the jump from online videos to starring roles?
We’ve always wanted to act since we were kids, but we never actually thought we would do it. We used to make Instagram videos of us dancing to different songs. Our Instagram page started to blow up, and then we started a YouTube channel. Because of our social media success, we started doing special appearances and live shows. At one show, our agents at BYSB Talent noticed people’s interest in us. Our teams connected and we emerged as professional actors.
What do you enjoy most about creating content for YouTube in addition to acting? Is there anything that you prefer about online videos over acting roles?
When we create content, the thing we enjoy the most is the feedback. We love reading the comments to see what our supporters liked, didn’t like, or what they thought was funny. It’s the same thing with acting, we love the feedback we receive on our performances.
How did you initially get started as creators on YouTube? What inspires you when deciding what to put into your latest upload?
We watch YouTube a lot. Our YouTube Channel was created by the request of our Instagram followers. Our supporters inspire us to keep posting. Knowing somebody out there is waiting for that next video pushes us to keep putting them out.
How has it been working together and alongside each other? Does it help at all to have someone who is essentially always in your corner to support you?
It has been an amazing experience to be able to work together. It’s just like going to work with your best friend. It honestly helps more than people think because we motivate each other to keep going hard as we go along. We also can get really energetic when we are with each other, and that makes our acting performance even better.

What can you tell us about your characters in the upcoming HBO series Euphoria and what we can expect from them?
Troy and Roy are arrogant twin brothers with an inappropriate sense of humor. You can expect plenty of wild, inconsiderate comments. Troy and Roy are also pretty goofy characters. They always have a joke for everything.
How has it been working alongside the cast and crew?
We couldn’t have asked for a better cast and crew. Working with everyone was amazing! We all work together very well and it shows on camera. We all were able to bond together and when we’re together it’s like we’re all best friends. We’re like a family.
Can you tease a little about what viewers can look forward to from the upcoming episodes?
A LOT of jaw droppers, laughter, and crying. You’ll feel a mix of emotions while going through the rest of the season.
What else are you working on? What can fans look forward to from you next?
