Read on for our exclusive interview with George Dalton below:
What inspired you to get into acting? Was there anyone who influenced or inspired you?
I have always connected to musical theater, so this was my initial inspiration. Believe it or not, Tim Burton’s work got me very excited about cinema so this is what made me feel this is something I really wanted to be a part of.
Is there anyone you would love to work with someday, if you could pick anyone?
Yes! Definitely Jessica Lange. One of my dreams is to be a part of American Horror Story in any capacity, so when she was a part of this show I really got excited!
Wet Hot American Summer featured a star studded cast. What was it like working with them? How does it feel to say you’ve worked with so many great talents?
Well actually, none of my scenes were with those actors you say are “stars”, but when they were around on set all were very supportive and so much fun to work with. But we are all “stars” in my opinion, so every actor I got to do my scenes with were so fantastic and funny! We were always cracking up on set.
How did you get into making videos for YouTube? What do you enjoy most about it?
It was not my original intention to specifically start making videos for You Tube, I simply wanted to express myself through music and I was really lucky to have so much support around me so I could make the version of the songs I wanted to make and the videos to go along with the music. You Tube was a place to showcase what I put together. I had no idea it was going to become what it has for the videos I put out there.
How has the support been for you so far? Do you enjoy interacting with your fans on social media?
The support has been amazing, and it is so fun to read comments from my fans about how a video I put out there inspired their own voice and gave them great ideas on how they could do the same. My fans are really what keeps me going and wanting to share with them my vision and my talent… they are so encouraging. And when others make negative comment which I try not to read, my fans are there to defend!
YouTube can open you up to all kinds of reactions. Do you consider yourself a role model for younger kids as well?
I would hope I am! And if I judge from some of the feedback, letters and even just encounters on the street with my fans and peers I have had I can say yes! I just try to be me and hope this inspires others to do the same.
You’re considered a triple threat with acting, singing, and directing under your belt. What do you enjoy most about branching out with different genres? Is there one you prefer over the other?
I truly love all three, but acting has always had my heart and is what I get the most excited about. Singing and directing lets me express a different side of me… it’s all me… and it’s cool I get to share these different parts of my creativity with others.
What else are you working on? What can we look forward to from you next?
I am now recording and getting ready to release an EP of 4 original songs which is so exciting because up until now I have only done cover songs. I also just wrapped a film that will do the film festival circuit soon.
