This show is getting so boring. I’m having trouble making it through the episodes at this point. I could probably sum up this episode in a few words but for the sake of the recap I guess I can ramble. Michael and Julia carry on with their rekindled affair and it’s gross. Affairs are rarely likeable. Is it that hard to break up with your partner beforehand? And when you have a kid? With eyes? Who is watching you makeout with your new boyfriend from his bedroom window?
Ivy is a bit sick and tired of Derek’s habit of humiliating her in front of everyone in the workshop instead of treating her like the goddess she is. The final straw comes when Derek asks Karen to show Ivy how it’s done and to give her lessons after hours. I hate that they’re making Ivy a villain. She is still so much better than Karen for the part. It’s just laughable at this point. Karen’s biggest worry of the episode is how sexy she can be in a revealing dress that she apparently proves to herself by publicly making out in a car. I just. Whatever.
This episode was a bit of filler. I feel like this happened last year. The episodes leading up to the epic finales are usually used to set them up. If that’s the case..what the heck is this show setting up? Aria is showing what I can only assume is brain damage in this episode. Or a severe lack of judgment. When it comes to Vivian’s friend from last week, she is just way too trusting.
She meets up with him and finds out that he spent most of the summer before Ail disappeared with her. And he knew her name wasn’t really Vivian either. He even saw her the weekend she disappeared. How many people did Alison see that weekend?? That is one long list. He then tells Aria he can’t tell her anything unless she gets in a small plane with him. What the hell? And then she does. And he forces her to fly it. What the hell am I watching? Who is this kid? And why was he flying Alison to town hours before she told the girls she arrived?
Toby is back in town and he’s back to tagging along with Jenna. He’s also kind of a douche. Hanna tries to knock some sense into him to see if he remembers what Jenna did to him and why he stopped being her lapdog in the first place. Toby just snaps at her that he knows exactly what he’s doing. Then he asks if she remembers what they did to her. What the heck? Since when does Toby throw that in their faces? What changed so fast? I’m getting suspicious of him. And of Maya. Is it really her that’s texting and emailing Emily? Is she dead?
The parents are in on the drama this week too. Byron and Ezra exchange words after Ella pays a visit to Fitz to ask if he knows anyone who would want to hurt Aria. Ezra tells him he won’t be taking the job and he’s here to stay. I wonder how that will go over? Spencer’s mom is furious when she notices Spencer inviting Jason over to the house. She doesn’t want him around at all. She then tells Spencer that it was her who hired the detective for 15 grand. So..what does this mean?
Jason is around because someone dropped off a bag of Ali’s things on his back porch. Jason assumes it was Maya because it’s a bunch of things that Maya’s family had found left behind. It’s just a bunch of girly stuff that doesn’t mean much until they give it a second look. The girls realize all of the items are wrapped in a newspaper from 2009. They think Ali highlighted parts of the paper and wrapped it herself as a clue. Hanna goes back to retrieve the bag when she realizes Jason’s house is on fire. Trapped inside is Jenna. Hanna manages to pull her out from the house right before it explodes. Whoa! Who would want the house to explode?
Jason is thankfully alive and still pretty. Someone texted Jenna to go inside Jason’s house before knocking her out. The end of the episode shows A placing a badge on the front porch. Is Garrett being framed? If Garrett didn’t do it..who did?
FOX Has Canceled Terra Nova
It was just announced that FOX has reached a decision on the fate of Terra Nova. It’s not a good one. The network had delayed making a decision for months but finally today, news broke that they have decided to cancel the show. It is also being reported that the show is being shopped around to other networks. Is that a glimmer of hope? Can we still see the show on like Syfy or something?? Tweet, email, write and make your voice heard if you want to see Terra Nova find a new home!
Via TVLine:
Fox has pulled the plug on its pricey prehistoric drama Terra Nova after one moderately rated season, TVLine has learned.
The show is currently being shopped to other networks by Twentieth Television.
This makes me so sad. The show was a mystery and a nice program to watch with the family. It was a nice departure from the stale crime and medical dramas that seem to crowd every single network. The cast was lovely and we even got to interview Jason O’Mara last year. Here’s hoping the show is able to find a new home on another network.
I had the pleasure of chatting with the members of The Good Mad last week. You may recognize them or their music from their recent appearances on ABC Family’s The Lying Game. Their music can be described as a pleasant blend of Country and Indie and their latest music has fans buzzing. We chatted with Allie, Andy and Adam about their sound, their television debut, and their dream tour. Check it out!
PopCityLife: Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us!
The Good Mad: Sure! Thanks for asking us questions! *laughs*
PCL: How did you guys get together to form the band?
TGM: Well, Adam and Andy were in a band called Mr. Adventures which was kind of indie rock music. I started playing violin with them and we did that for a year and a half. Then that band parted ways and we got together this past summer.
PCL: I really love your unique sound, especially as you said with the violin. How would you describe your sound to someone who hasn’t heard it before?
TGM: It’s part of this new folk generation. I think that’s getting more credibility these days. It’s an earthy, folk-americana sound. We’ll work on our self assessment!
PCL: Recently you guys have been appearing on The Lying Game. How did that come about?
TGM: The creator of the show came to me and said “We’re going to give you a music storyline” and I was like “Sweet!” They were actually planning on hiring a local band. I was like “You should listen to my band! I like our music and maybe you will too.” That’s basically how it came to be. The boys flew out and we recorded some songs. It’s been a lot of fun.
PCL: How did you come up with the name?
TGM: There’s this quote in On The Road by Jack Kerouac that says “The only ones for me are the mad ones.” Adam and I were taking a walk in Austin one day and that quote was painted on the side of a bridge and we thought that was pretty cool.
The difference is there’s the psychotic kind of mad and then there’s the good kind of crazy which I think all of us have in us ya know?
PCL: What was it like seeing yourselves performing on tv for the first?
TGM: Weird.
Hilarious.
Surreal.
It almost doesn’t compute. If we had seen each other in a fake band playing songs that weren’t ours we would be like “Oh, there’s us acting.” But since it is our music and we are a band it’s kind of funny.
PCL: How has the support from fans been since appearing on the show?
TGM: We’re getting a lot of good, positive feedback on our YouTube page and Facebook and Twitter.
We had a show the other day where 5 kids showed up just from hearing about it on Twitter. It was a first for us where it wasn’t just our friends or friends of our friends. It was great.
PCL: Do you all enjoy acting? Is that something you would like to focus on in the future or would you prefer to work on music?
TGM: (Allie) Ultimately I think all of our goal is to make music but I would definitely like to keep acting. I’ve learned a lot about myself and human behavior. This show has opened my eyes in a lot of ways. I think we all just want to go with the flow.
(Adam) If it feels right, if a situation presents itself and we’re ready for it then we’ll do it.
PCL: Do you guys have any plans to tour in the future?
TGM: Not as of right now. There’s definitely plans, not necessarily laid down yet. Allie is probably going to go back to film another season of The Lying Game. We’ll be a long distance band then so we’re making music when we’re together. Hopefully we’ll get to do a little of the West Coast.
PCL: Is there anyone you would love to tour with if you could tour with anybody?
TGM: Anybody? Arcade Fire! We listened to the Civil Wars album for the first time because we’ve gotten some comparisons. They’re super cool.
PCL: What’s next for you guys? Do you have any plans to release an album?
TGM: I think we are gonna try to record an EP over this hiatus.
We want to do something concrete. A full, little musical compilation of The Good Mad before Allie goes back.
PCL: Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans?
TGM: Thanks for being awesome supporters and giving us feedback which really helps. We love hearing from you. Time doesn’t always allow us to be on Twitter all day long but we really appreciate all of you.
Music is such a big luxury for every person but to actually be on other people’s radars or in their earphones as they’re walking down the street makes us really proud.
Once again, I’d like to thank the members of The Good Mad for taking the time to answer some fan questions. Be sure to follow the band on twitter here and check out their website for information on how to purchase their latest songs.
