“And then there were none.”
Read on for our recap of American Horror Story: Roanoke 6×07, “Chapter 7.”
As American Horror Story: Roanoke 6×07 begins, Sidney is observing what’s going on inside the house from his office. A colleague asks him where Diana is, and if she’s ever coming back. He dismisses the issue, claiming he’s not going to waste his energy on someone who doesn’t want to be part of the show.
Meanwhile, a cameraman sees Rory being stabbed on screen. We already know Rory was killed by the two nurses sisters at the end of the previous episode. Then Sidney hears an assistant screaming from outside his office. He goes out to find her with her throat cut. Just in time to realize what’s happening, he’s stabbed too, by Agnes dressed as The Butcher. The cameraman who’s filming gets his share of stabbing as well. After Agnes is done killing the crew, she takes the camera and recites: I am the tree and the lightning that strikes it.
In the meantime, inside the house, Rory’s body is nowhere to be found. Audrey comes to the conclusion that Rory left the house because he got a film offer in LA. She assumes he and Sidney orchestrated the stabbing scare as a way to make Rory leave the show.
Agnes has become a sort of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, alternating between being The Butcher and herself. As herself, she manages to get inside the house to Shelby’s room. Then she’s The Butcher again, telling Shelby that she’s not welcome on her land. She stabs Shelby, but before she can finish her off, Dominic comes to Shelby’s rescue and kills Agnes… or so he believes. Agnes’ body is nowhere to be found.
Audrey and Matt come to help Shelby, and Dominic screams at the cameras to call an ambulance. He doesn’t know that the crew was already killed and no one is actually listening to their cries for help.
As American Horror Story: Roanoke 6×07 continues, Lee, Monet, and Audrey decide to go out to the production trailer. Armed with their phones to record every move, they go to see why Sidney is not sending help. When they get to the trailer, they find Sidney and his assistants dead. There’s no working phone (their phones can’t make calls) and the car is dead as well. They are running out of daylight, with a blood moon hovering abov them.
Suddenly, Agnes appears again, and Lee shoots her with her gun. Lee, Audrey, and Monet start running away into the woods. They stop at a certain point and find… Rory’s body. There’s not even the time to acknowledge what happened before the Polk family finds them – and meanwhile, Agnes is still alive.
Back at the house, Dominic wakes up when he hears Matt coming down the stairs. He follows Matt to the basement, where the real Witch is waiting for him. Dominic goes to wake Shelby up, and together they go back to the basement where Matt and the Witch are having a “romantic” encounter. Matt doesn’t seem happy when Shelby scares the Witch away. He tells her that the Witch is the reason why he came back to the house. At that point, Shelby loses it completely, and beats Matt to death.
While Lee, Audrey, and Monet are held captive by the Polks, Agnes goes back to the house ready to set fire to it, with Dominic and Shelby inside. A group of people approaches, and finally Agnes comes face to face with the real Butcher, and the real lost colony. Poor Agnes doesn’t even have the time to profess her devotion to the Butcher before her idol kills her.
