For me, Younger was the surprise breakout hit of 2015. TV Land’s hit original series focuses on Liza, played by Sutton Foster, living a lie as a 26-year-old in New York – who is really a 40-year-old mom just trying to stay afloat.
The series features an amazing ensemble cast including the extremely talented and hilarious Debi Mazar, former Disney star Hilary Duff, Nico Tortorella, and Miriam Shor. The best thing about this show is the risks that it takes. In a world full of watered-down story lines in comedy, this is a show that is able to rely on the talents of the cast and the hilarious writing to make the viewers want to come back for more.
After seeing an episode devoted to Liza selling her underwear on Craigslist for cash and Maggie’s character talking to Liza’s “Frida,” I knew this show was a keeper.
Now that Liza’s secret is closer to being out, the Younger season 2 premiere on Jan. 13 is looking to be a “can’t miss.”
