“You shall not become corrupt, you shall not become putrid, you shall not become worms”.
In this new episode of Grimm, “Once We Were Gods”, a secret room is found behind a wall in a building. Inside, some boxes dated 1946, of what look like to be archeological finds.
An Egyptian sarcophagus is also found.
Wu is still in the psychiatric hospital, and it looks like he really lost his mind, after the terrible encounter with a wesen in the previous episode.
His friends think it would be probably better to talk to him about Nick and the wesen world.
The sarcophagus that has been found is revealed to depict an Anubis, an Egyptian God of the dead.
During the night, two men manage to sneak inside the univeristy where the sarcophagus is now kept.
The two are wesen, and they attack a guard who saw them inside the lab, they kill him.
Another guard gets shot, and one of the two intruders dies.
Wu talks with a doctor about the Aswang.
Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank are called to investigate what happened at the university.
The professor who’s studying the sarcophagus opens it, and the mummy is still inside.
The intruders left some painted symbols on the wall of the lab. The professor says they mean: “I protect the dead”. It is part of an inscription found in Tutankhamun’s tomb. Some consider it a curse.
Meanwhile, in Austria, Captain Renard’s friend Sebastian is interrogated by Prince Victor and he’s asked to reveal all the names of those involved in the resistance against the Prince.
Nick and Hank manage to identify the intruders. They both think wesen is involved.
Nick and Hank talk with Rosalee and Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) about their case. They explain that the mummy inside the sarcophagus, the Anubis, is indeed a wesen, as a lot of other Egyptian gods.
They think that the so called ‘Beati Paoli’ is involved. It is a Sicilian vendetta society made up of different wesen, dedicated to protect the wesen culture. They go after museums, archeological digs. For them, showing that mummy-wesen to the public would be a sacrilege for the whole wesen community. And Rosalee and Monroe agree with that last part.
A member of the wesen’s council goes to visit Monroe and Rosalee, and he tells them he wants to talk with Nick.
In Austria, Sebastian is being tortured, to make him reveal where Adalind and her baby are.
Juliette goes to talk to Wu. Even if she doesn’t tell him the truth about the Aswang and Nick being a Grimm, she still manages to make him feel a little better.
The member of the wesen council, Alexander, talks to Nick about the Beati Paoli. He doesn’t approve of their actions, but he still doesn’t want the Anubi wesen to be displayed in public.
The council though wants the member who killed the univerity’s guard stopped, because he’s gone too far by killing a man. The council wants Nick to stop him. They know the man will try to steal the wesen-mummy again.
In Austria, the Prince’s people are now after Adalind.
Captain Renard calls his man who’s now with Adalind, and he tells him to move as soon as possible to Zurich.
The univeristy professor who’s studying the mummy is now held hostage by the man who wants to steal it. He forces her to enter the lab.
Nick calls Monroe, to tell him that Alexander is also nearby the lab.
Nick fights to free the professor, and he manages to arrest the wesen who wanted to steal the mummy.
But once they’re back inside the lab, the mummy’s gone, stolen by Alexander.
Nick talks to him, and together with Hank, Monroe and Rosalee they burn the mummy, so that it won’t be in danger to be revealed in public and therefore be dishonored.
Wu is finally out the of the hospital. He feels better, and thinks that what he saw wasn’t real.
