Here Lies Love, the upcoming groundbreaking musical from David Byrne and Fatboy Slim have announced that Arielle Jacobs will lead the cast as Imelda Marcos. The new musical tells the story of Imelda Marcos’ rise to power and the journey of the Philippine People Power Revolution.
Arielle joins previously announced cast members Jose Llana and Conrad Ricamora. Tony award winner Lea Salonga is also set to join the cast in a special 5 week engagement spanning from July 11th-August 13th.
Here Lies Love is set to transform the Broadway theatre into a dance club scene with dancing from the audience members encouraged. There are four different kinds of seating offered with no seating being available on the floor. From the press release:
Here Lies Love tells the story of Imelda Marcos’ rise to power and subsequent fall at the hands of the Philippine People Power Revolution. As previously announced, Jose Llana (The King and I, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and Conrad Ricamora (“How to Get Away with Murder,” The King and I, Soft Power – Grammy nominations) will recreate their original roles as Ferdinand Marcos (Imelda’s husband and the tenth president of the Philippines whose 20-year dictatorship spanned 1965-1986; he lived in exile in the United States until his death in 1989) and Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino (a Philippine senator, opposition leader and Marcoses’ primary critic; his assassination in 1983 ignited the People Power Revolution which finally ousted Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos from power), respectively.
Here Lies Love begins preview performances June 17th with their official opening night being July 20th.

Here Lies Love transforms the Broadway Theatre’s floor space into a dance club environment, where some audience members will stand and move with the actors, and others will enjoy from seats located around the theatre. Four ticketing options will provide audience members with unique and immersive points of view:
· Floor – Standing on the dance floor amidst the action, at the center of Here Lies Love’s nightclub-style setting. Dancing is encouraged! You’ll be moving around with the actors throughout the 90-minute performance. There are no seats on the floor. Wheelchair tickets are available on the floor. For stationary wheelchair locations, please see Floorside Seating.
· Floorside Seats – Elevated seating alongside the dance floor, with two rows of chairs located directly above the action happening right in front of you. You’ll enjoy the show from a point of view that was designed specifically for this experience. Accessible seating is located in Floorside Sections 1 and 2.
· Front Mezzanine – Seated in a traditional theater seat, while still close to the action. The performance extends up to you from the dance floor just below, with actors performing throughout the entire space.
· Rear Mezzanine – Seated in a theater seat with a panoramic view of the action.
