Jamie Campbell Bower has been permanently seared into our minds following his intensely compelling performance in season 4 of Stranger Things. It was an all-consuming role that allowed Bower to showcase his many talents. His brilliant performance was delivered with all the strength and intensity required of a character with keynotes of manipulation and fear. It was a not-so-gentle reminder that we as an audience have been sleeping on Jamie Campbell Bower.

His talents are certainly not limited to the screen. Previously the frontman for Counterfeit, Bower’s deep love of music and the passion that comes along with it has easily proven to listeners that the art he creates is not to be missed.
“I Am” is the latest single to be released as Bower emerges as a solo artist. The song is a high-energy Southern Gothic anthem that is a departure from Jamie Campbell Bower’s previous releases. While they are comparable with the emotion heard and felt while listening, “I Am” features a soulful and gritty sound reminiscent of Charlie Daniels.

Listeners will also feel powerful as they experience the song; and if you’re anything like me, you will need it added to your playlist as soon as possible as it truly encapsulates that main character moment you need on a long walk.
“Paralyzed” will always take us back to an emotional and poignant place. Previously released and performed with Counterfeit, Bower has released a stripped-down version bringing together the use of piano, strings, and his voice. And that’s all he needs. We cannot stop recommending this version to others. Powerful and thought-provoking, the lyrics follow a dark trajectory with an emotional and satisfying payoff. This track continues to be one of our favorites.

Bower’s passion shining through makes this track another stand-out; one that is both relatable and captivating. The best music for me is that with which you can feel yourself, a way of expression you might not have been able to tackle on your own. For that, we will continue to be grateful to Jamie Bower for sharing his words, his story, and his music.
As the year continues with new music on the way and this next step in what is sure to be an exciting time in Jamie’s career, we cannot think of anyone more deserving. We can’t wait to see what else Jamie Campbell Bower has in store.
