Some of our favorite shows ended their seasons in May, making this month’s Pop City Life recap a bittersweet one. Read on for our Pop City Life recap of May!
After six seasons on Lifetime’s Dance Moms, breakout stars Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler bid an emotional goodbye to the show. Nicola spoke with their teammate Kalani Hilliker about life after the Zieglers, and also touched upon Kalani’s acting aspirations, her dancewear line, and the highs and lows of being on Dance Moms.
Speaking of goodbyes, NBC’s Grimm and Freeform’s Stitchers both wrapped up their seasons this month. Nicola interviewed Stitchers star Emma Ishta before the last episode of season 2 aired, and made sure to get her take on whether lead characters Kirsten and Cameron should stay friends or become romantically involved. Meanwhile, Maria topped off another month of Grimm recaps by covering the show’s two-hour season 5 finale. Now that Black Claw’s founder is dead, will Renard take advantage of the situation and seize the position of power for himself? We’ll have to wait until the show returns in the fall to find out!
With so many shows wrapping up, it’s only a matter of time before we welcome back our summer favorites, including TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles (which premieres June 6) and Freeform’s Baby Daddy and The Fosters (which premiere June 1 and June 20, respectively). Nicola’s counting down the weeks until The Fosters season 4 with an in-depth flashback recap series focused on the show’s pilot episode – she’s not done yet, but you can check out part one, part two, and part three.
