If you skipped the globes made out of gold, you were able to enjoy another hilarious episode of ABC’s Galavant. Featuring guest star Matt Lucas, the episode introduced feelings to Madalena, mind control for Isabella, democracy to Richard’s kingdom, and a new love interest for the King and his beard.
Keep reading for our Galavant 2×03 and Galavant 2×04 recap of the best moments:
1. Democracy! Just Not For You. Or You.
Matt Lucas guest stars in the episode to inform Richard that not only has the kingdom taken apart his castle to create their own little village, but the villagers don’t really care that he’s the king. He’s just a guy wearing a tin hat. Welcome democracy in a song seemingly perfect for the next Republican debate.
2. Peasant Love
We all loved the duet between Chef and Gwynne last season when they were plotting to poison the royals. This season, they performed together once again, and damn: They have some pipes! Sadly, it looks like they decided to leave a life of non-wiggling teeth and sheets to be together elsewhere.
3. Kiss The Girl 2.0
Alan Menken continues to make my nights better every week when I watch Galavant. To get Richard and his beard out of his perfectly styled hair, Galavant decides to set up the king with his childhood friend Roberta (Clare Foster). What follows is a perfect musical number the writers have dubbed their version of “Kiss The Girl” from The Little Mermaid, named “Maybe You Won’t Die Alone.” So romantic. God Save The King…’s beard!
Strings. Winds. Words.
4. Madalena Has Feelings
Queen Madalena deals with bullying this episode and the result is a beautiful, emotional musical number from Mallory Jansen. Madalena ponders “What Am I Feeling” and why it hurts. And just what is she feeling for Gareth?
What did you guys think of Galavant 2×03 /2×04? Did Madalena make you feel all the feels? Are you a supporter of peasant love and democracy?
