It’s been a while since Boston’s premier crime-fighting duo graced our screens – four months, in fact, as Rizzoli & Isles 6×12 aired on Sept. 1 of last year. There’s good news and bad news: Although Rizzoli & Isles season 6B doesn’t kick off on TNT until Feb. 16, the network has started running promos to give us an idea of what to expect when the series returns.
The longest Rizzoli & Isles season 6B promo to date is below, clocking in at 21 seconds, but there are also two 11-second alternatives kindly posted on YouTube by fansite AUSXIP.
They may be short, but there’s much to infer from these sneak peeks into Rizzoli & Isles season 6B.
1. Maura prevails!
First off, Maura has apparently survived the harrowing kidnapping that served as the Rizzoli & Isles 6×12 cliffhanger. That’s hardly a surprise (unless you were expecting the show to be renamed Rizzoli & ___?), but it’s heartening nonetheless, especially in the wake of that insanely dramatic zoom-in on Maura’s dropped phone.
2. Jane has a new toy.
A stun gun, to be precise, although I’m not sure how much more stunning she needs to be given that actress Angie Harmon is 5’9.5” (hey, the half is apparently important to her) and looks like this in a dress:

3. They’re still the duo we know & love.
It’s been way too long, but we can find solace in the fact that Maura’s geeky charm and Jane’s acerbic wit seem to have survived the hiatus – at least if this promo video and the quote below are anything to go by.
Maura: The fight-or-flight response can be very intoxicating.
Jane: If we get intoxicated, I’m gonna have a beer.
