We’re gonna need a bigger boat (sorry, I couldn’t resist a Jaws reference), after tonight’s penultimate episode of Royal Pains.
Tonight was all about discovery and new adventures. Not only did we learn about Charlotte’s eyesight, but we also discovered the identity of the all powerful Oz and Boris’ big plans for HankMed.
Read our recap of Royal Pains 6×12: “A Bigger Boat” to find out the details!
At First Sight
Thanks to Charlotte’s recent corneal transplant, she can see — not perfectly, but still she can see colors, light and, most importantly, Hank’s handsome face! As expected, Charlotte experiences difficulty adjusting to light and colors, resulting in an accident — she hits her head on the bathtub and falls unconscious. Don’t worry, she’s fine. Hank tells her she needs to take it easy and be patient. He gifts Charlotte with her cane, saying it’s better for Charlotte to take her time and to get adjusted.
Oz, the Great and Powerful
Let’s first start off by saying Paige and Evan are horrible spies. In an attempt to catch Emma in the act (just why did she steal Hank’s prescription pad?), this dynamic duo trail Emma. She catches them (in the words of Evan, they’re bird watching and Emma’s the bird) and explains she’s trying to out Oz with Hank’s script pad (she copied one page and attached it to a blank notepad). This means she can hopefully fix things with Hank and the family. According to Emma, this is a great way to get Oz to reveal him/herself aka who doesn’t want access to all of Hank’s prescriptions for the elite?
Finally, we learn the identity of this wickedly brilliant Oz, and not just because of Emma. Paige and Evan help Emma, because, after all, they’re family. So who is Oz? It’s Parker, Cinco’s sister! Snark Hampton was her way of connecting with her mom and getting some attention from her own mother, who just loves gossiping. Parker also confesses to Cinco, with Emma present, that Emma was her biggest source when it came to photos. Uh oh. It looks like Cinco is dunzo with baby sister Lawson. Now that Cinco doesn’t want anything to do with Emma, and Hank is still trying to figure out his sister’s motives, Emma leaves (in her new car, that looks just like Hank’s, but red) without saying goodbye.
We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat
Not only did Divya and Jeremiah treat a patient working with boats, but it looks like HankMed is sailing off in a new (and much larger) direction. Boris agrees to assist HankMed/HankLab by purchasing Hamptons Heritage. Yes, Boris is buying a hospital. He wants Evan, Divya, Jeremiah and Hank to serve on the board of directors. All agree, except Hank.
Note: before Boris mentions his plans, he says some of the kindest words to Hank, Evan, Divya and Jeremiah that I’ve ever heard him utter on the entire series of Royal Pains. Kudos, Boris!
Most Disgusting Moment:
In what is probably the most disgusting moment of Royal Pains history, Hank pulled out a heartworm from Cinco’s wrist. Yes, you read that right. Yes, it was shown. Yes, Emma thought it was super cool. I thought it was super gross.
Most Sweetest Moment:
Once again, Jeremiah delivered some of the best advice — this time on friendship. He feels that if you’re really friends, then maybe the relationship can grow back together — like a broken bone — and become even stronger than before. I think Divya and Jeremiah are going to be just fine. Divya can surely use a friend like Jeremiah, especially now that Rafa is seeking joint custody of Sashi. If Divya has anything to say about it, Sashi will not be going back to Argentina.
