Last week’s episode of Royal Pains left us with one big question: who shot Ray?
Well, not only did we find out just who put a bullet in Ray and almost shot Paige, but we also watched Divya handle her relationship with Lorena, Hank and Boris’ treatment of Tobias, Jeremiah’s continued struggles with women and Evan’s dealings with Emma and “mobster” Ray.

I Shot the Mobster, But I Did Not Shoot the Artist
So just who shot Ray? It was none other than his wife, Olivia (played by Alicia Minshew aka Kendall from All My Children). In the end, after going to confront Ray, Paige figured out that it was his wife who fired the shot (Olivia had a bruise from a pistol kickback, which Paige knows about thanks to her father – who doesn’t?) and that Ray knew all along it was his wife. He tried to protect her. Olivia thought Paige and Ray were having an affair. Most common response? Sending him a warning with a bullet. As Paige said, thank goodness Olivia’s a good shot.
Giving Up Is Not an Option
First off, Divya managed to talk some sense into Lorena (for now). Not only did she diagnose Lorena with psoriatic arthritis, but Divya also told Lorena she doesn’t need to force her and Rafa to be a family, nor does Lorena need to be lonely. Now that Lorena has the correct medication for her arthritis, she can go visit her son, in addition to being a grandma to Sashi. In the end, Hank, Boris, Divya and Sashi all returned home safely.
Now, let’s get to the good stuff — Jeremiah and Divya. After figuring out that Divya helped Viviana, Jeremiah thanks Divya for not giving up on people. They both apologize for their actions, with Divya admitting that Jeremiah is a lot stronger than she gave him credit for. In the end, they say their peace and end up holding hands. Who else loves their relationship?
Liar Liar Pants on Fire
Evan tells Hank about Emma. The brothers confront their sister, who admits to sending the photo of Hank as a way to retaliate against Cinco. Because they’re such good men, they forgive her and assure Emma that she doesn’t have to do anything on her own — after all, they are family. However, Emma continues to keep secrets. Yep, she steals a prescription pad from Hank. No worries, he discovers it’s missing and assumes Emma is the most likely culprit.
Breaking and Making Partners
After a terrifying walk in the woods, Evan finally found the cahonas to end his partnership with Ray — and all on good terms. This means HankMed needs a new lab space and a new partner. Evan’s new plan? Partnering with Boris for a brand new HankLab. Speaking of new ventures, after their time with Tobias (who has another orphan disease aka a rare condition that lacks attention in funding) in Argentina, Boris decides to try and adopt these orphan diseases as part of his foundation. Oh, and after treating Ray one more time, Hank also parted ways with the “mobster.” Overall, the Lawsons ended on good terms with Ray, who now has Olivia to take care of him.
Quotes of the Night:
“If it’s any consolation, you’re not the first woman I disappointed this week.” -Jeremiah to His Patient
“Women confuse me.” -Jeremiah to Hank, Evan and Divya
