How will Switched at Birth continue after the heartbreaking episode last week? Tonight, we watch as the families deal with the tragic events leading up to tonight.
Read on for our recap of Switched at Birth 3×17: “Girl With Death Mask (She Plays Alone)”
Following the loss of Angelo, the parents are eager to help their daughters move on. John suggests they all get out and take a trip to Chicago to meet with Angelo’s cousin Sebastian. Kathryn just wants to feed them. Regina is having the worst of it as she is still feeling Daphne’s wrath and blame.
While the trio heads to Chicago, Kathryn and Regina are visited by Angelo’s baby daughter Abby and her adoptive father Leo. He’s so cute. Regina just wants to be alone so Kathryn, needing some company and obviously someone to feed, offers to hang out with him. Leo announces that he and his partner broke up so he and Abby are all alone. Kathryn lets him know that he always has a family right here waiting for him. I would actually love to see more of him. Kathryn attempts to hook him up with Renzo (who is as smitten with this guy as I am), and he gets all aflutter and fails at cooking them dinner.
Toby is throwing himself into his new career as a DJ and is inviting everyone he knows to his first gig. Emmett, Mary Beth, and Toby’s new British neighbor all show up. And hey! So does Tank. He’s drunk. And thinks that Emmett is Travis. Boy does it almost hit the fan when he realizes who Emmett really is. Fortunately for Emmett, Tank can’t throw much of a punch when he’s drunk. Anyone else think that the British teacher from Carlton is a new love interest for Toby? And in a weird plot move I did not see coming, Toby asks Tank to move in with him.
Now on to the good stuff. Daphne spends her time in Chicago by taking a tour of Northwestern University. And obviously dealing with her own stuff, she convinces her innocent tour guide to get high with her. On cocaine.
Daphne on cocaine is kind of hilarious. But that really shouldn’t be what you take away from this, dear children. However, Daphne on cocaine is kind of like a really excited hamster on a wheel. With some lettuce. And a chew toy. Bottom line, homegirl ends up hurling a chair off the roof. I like her tour guide though. He’s sweet. I wouldn’t mind seeing more of him either.
Bay meets up with Sebastian, Angelo’s artist cousin. He’s not very sad about anything and spends most of the time detailing that Angelo was a flake. Then he tries to scam Bay and John out of 700 bucks. He does come in useful at the end, though. When he learns what caused Angelo’s accident, he tells Bay about how Angelo had a sister who died the same way.
The aneurysms are hereditary. Bay is really worried.
And now so is Regina. Because Daphne leaves her with this:
“I got very high. What are you gonna do about it?”
Awww here it goes. What did you think of Switched at Birth 3×17?
