Lovesick Saints, a punk/alternative rock trio out of Arizona, have just released their new music video to go along with their latest EP Dia De Los Muertos. Their song “War Story” is described as “a heart-felt punk rock tribute to all those who fought and sacrificed their lives for our freedom”. With Memorial Day just passing by, it’s the perfect time to check this out.
Consisting of 6 tracks, “Dia De Los Muertos” takes an early punk influence and attempts to incorporate modern punk sounds with a gritty story.
Having released four studio EPs before this one, I was eager to see what Lovesick Saints would bring to the table.
Upon listening to the first track “War Story”, I was immediately taken in by the authentic punk sound. Right off the bat, the song reminded me of the early days of Green Day. Combined with a music video that is packed with powerful imagery, I think this was a good lead-off track for the album.

The second track we took a listen to was “Sick and Broken”. The song begins with a clear and strong bass line before launching into a great guitar sequence. This track features dark and emotional lyrics that upon first look, I just assumed this song would be slower. The uptempo and faster beat works with this song and would definitely be a stand-out song when played live.
Now the fear has come and gone
And you found the strength to carry on
There was something that you never knew
It was buried deep inside of you
And you found that if you let things go
That time will always tow your soul
The third track we sat down with was “One Foot In The Grave”. This track is probably my favorite, musically. The guitar and feel of the song is something that really works. The lyrics are, once again, well done and full of thought and emotion.
With a sound similar to The Ramones, Bad Religion, and again, Green Day, Lovesick Saints may be the perfect group that we can recommend for you.
