This young and especially talented singer and songwriter has a gift for her listeners even though its her birthday. Her fans are invited to listen to her EP “Black Crow” for free! At just 16 years old, Juliette Jules has been able to convey emotions that should be beyond her years. The Parisian songwriter is determined to prove she possesses a talent for music that many only wish they could have. With her debut EP “Black Crow“, she may have proven this with the greatest of ease.
Since the age of 13, Juliette Jules has perfected her song styling. Let’s face it, most young girls under 16 nowadays are desperately hoping to land a spot on American Idol or not-so-carefully crafting out their pop/dance music debut and obsessing over their followers on Instagram.
Juliette’s music is not what you would expect from someone her age. But instead of focusing on the fact that she has recently turned 16, let’s focus on the music.
The EP consists of five tracks, four of which are original, and features slow and pure vocals. The bulk of the album features a mostly acoustic sound that seems perfectly suited for her voice.
The first track we took a listen to was “Johnny Was”. I spent the majority of this song wondering to myself who her voice reminded me of. She is described as being similar to both Adele and Lana Del Ray. While these songs don’t fit the booming, powerful vocals like Adele, it does seem to capture the soft and pleasant, yet emotion filled lyrics that other songwriters have become famous for.

The next was the title track “Black Crow”. This track really is very beautiful. The lower vocals sound so full of passion and emotion that it makes this song a real stand out among the album. It’s really quite amazing that her voice can sound so powerful while still being so soft and enticing. This song is definitely my favorite on the album.
I wish a video was available for this song so that I could promote it here but so far, I haven’t seen one.
Next up is “The Game”.
This track starts off with a lovely piano beginning before launching in an “island” acoustic sound. This song, lyrically, features a more mature sound. Overall, however, it comes up short for me because I’m still reeling from the previous song.
Finally, the last track we listened to was “Hallelujah”. Yes, that Hallelujah. The song that seems to have been covered by everyone is also featured on this EP. It seems like a no-brainer that Juliette would be able to nail this song and she does. It provides her with the right amount of emotional depth that her voice seems to slay.
All in all, we predict big things for this beautiful young girl. Juliette Jules is too talented for you to not check out so be sure you do!
