The Mentalist‘s new episode “Black Hearts” continues and closes the arc regarding the vast human smuggling ring. The FBI team finds out that the kidnapped girls were killed and used for their organs.
The next step is trying to find out who’s the mind behind it.
Lisbon (Robin Tunney) gets a job offer from the major-crimes unit in D.C. It’s time now for Lisbon to make a final decision. Will she move to D.C. with Pike (Pedro Pascal), now that she also got a very good job offer?
Thanks to the team’s investigations, a name comes up: Michael Ridley. He owns the same company that owns the confiscated truck in which the FBI found some kidnapped girls.
Jane (Simon Baker) and Lisbon go talk to him, but Ridley denies any involvement in the human smuggling ring.
Later, Lisbon and Cho (Tim Kang) share what is personally my favourite scene of the whole episode, and possibly the best scene between these two characters ever.
Lisbon tells Cho she got a job offer in D.C, but she still doesn’t know if she’s going to take it.
Cho tells her that “it’d be a great move”, and then tells her that “I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for you.”
I’ve always found the respect and the caring between these two characters, one of the most beautiful things of the series.
Nailing Ridley proves very difficult, but thanks to Jane and one his unorthodox schemes, for which he involves Lisbon too, they manage to make Ridely confess all his responsibilities. A lot of kidnapped girls are found and rescued by the FBI.
After the case is closed, Lisbon meets Pike, and she tells him she’s going to take the job offer in D.C.
And then, suddenly, Pike comes up with a proposal… “Will you marry me?”.
Lisbon is quite shocked, to say the least, and tells Pike she has to think about it.
Jane doesn’t know about Lisbon’s decision yet. She goes to him, but once again these two aren’t able to have a conversation…
Lisbon leaves the office, without telling Jane anything about her decision, and he only says :”I’ll be here”. He clearly knows what’s goin on, despite the fact Lisbon hasn’t told him anything.
Next week is the last episode for The Mentalist Season 6, and the last chance for Jane to finally talk to Lisbon about his feelings.
The Mentalist has been renewed by CBS for Season 7.
