Person of Interest 3×16 – RAM – Recap
It was a different kind of flashback and it had two amazing guest stars that I love.
Read on for our recap of “RAM”.
The episode begins as a frantic Harold Finch is pleading with someone to hurry up and save a young woman’s life. Mr. Reese where are you?? But surprise! A wild Neil Jackson appears! After my brain has gotten over the squeeing that Neil is appearing in another of my favorite shows (although sadly, minus his accent), and in a suit, I can process what I’m seeing. It’s 2010. Harold is in a wheelchair and he’s speaking with Mr. Dillinger (guest star Neil Jackson).
Mr. Dillinger was Harold’s answer to the Man in a Suit before he was graced by Reese’s existence. I gotta say, I love me some Jim Caviezel but I am really loving Mr. Dillinger right now. He’s sarcastic, he hooks up with his numbers, and he calls Harold “The Finchinator”. Harold has employed him to help save his many numbers and this week, we’ll be saving Daniel Casey, guest star Joe Mazzello(!!). Anyone else just so happy to see Joe on screen? And he’s playing a computer geek. He’s totally “Lex”!
It seems everyone is out to get this kid and Mr. Dillinger notices. In fact, a certain man and woman are on his tail at the same time. It’s Kara and Reese! And they’re talking about vacation.
“I’m not ready to see you in a speedo.”
What a cool twist. Two men in a suit tracking the same guy. But why?
Daniel was hired to analyze and test a highly sophisticated piece of software. A…machine if you will. He was hired to find weaknesses. A way to break in to it. When he realized what his employers really wanted, he stole some code, he tried to get out, they tried to kill him, and here we are. And guess who else is around? The mystery woman “Control” that Root dominated a few episodes back. She wants Daniel Casey found so they can take care of him the way they took care of Nathan Ingram. Ugh. How dare you! That still hurts!
Beautiful Dillinger has grown tired of Harold’s secrecy. He listens in on his conversation with Daniel and, after swiftly putting a knife in my heart, he turns on them both. He drugs Harold, steals the laptop and Machine code from Daniel, and peaces out.
This betrayal forces Daniel to run for his life..and right into the arms of Mr. Reese. Normally, not a bad place to be. Unfortunately, it’s at a time where John wants to kill this kid so it’s probably not so great for him. Surprisingly, Mr. Reese lies to Kara, lets him live, and helps him with a new identity. He’s a softie! It’s nice to see the beginning of what Harold saw in John.
Still limping to all the action, Harold witnesses Mr. Dillinger being killed over the laptop…by SHAW. Holy canoli. The writers are weaving everything together so nicely. Finch buries Mr. Dillinger nearby and we flash back to the present. Daniel Casey is living in an empty cabin somewhere when there is a knock at the door. Surprise! It’s Root. And she says the Machine needs his help. Gasp. Does this mean Daniel Casey is sticking around? I’m so excited!
The Person of Interest writers are so fantastic but they’re really making it hurt this season!
