We may still be massively disappointed about how the writers have chosen to take Ezra’s storyline but at least they made up for it by moving the plot along. Let’s hope this continues.
Read on for our recap of season 4 episode 22 of Pretty Little Liars: “Cover For Me“.
Spencer is home from a whopping 3 day stay in rehab. The fun is only beginning for her when her mother announces that a cute sober coach and drug abuse counselor will be moving in with them until further notice. I mean. It could be worse. Unfortunately, Spencer believes that it is. With all of her electronics taken away, Spencer has nothing to do but think. Her thoughts are the one thing that is betraying her right now.
Spencer begins to remember things and suppressed memories start to inch their way back into her mind. Is she remembering things that actually happened? I hope not. Because Spencer remembers hitting Ali over the head with a shovel. Spencer is then surprised when she finds dirt in her bed along with a note from A.
“I know you dug her grave. Now I’m digging yours.”
Imagine her surprise when Mrs. Dilaurentis comes over and makes a cryptic comment about clean sheets. Why is she acting so suspicious? And why is Toby in London? What a time to leave town.
Aria is having significantly more fun blowing off steam following her Ezra debacle. She’s checking out colleges in New York, getting drunk, and hooking up with a hot, new guy. I appreciate her pain but I think we’re spending way too much time on a guy that’s not sticking around. I just don’t care, even if he’s cute.
I’m surprised when Emily sees that Ezra has chosen to come back to school to teach. She lets him have it about not being a real teacher and I’m applauding. I’m even more surprised when Aria goes to see him! At least he has managed to clean up his apartment. I kind of roll my eyes when Aria tells him he has to leave town for good. I feel like I’m watching an old western. Ezra tells Aria to read his manuscript because he thinks he has found out some information that can help the girls.
Speaking of answers, let’s get to it. Hanna is shocked when Holbrook shows her the note Paige left them saying that Alison is still alive. Hanna is adamant that she didn’t write it but no one believes her. While over at Emily’s, Hanna realizes that it’s Paige’s handwriting.
“You told Paige about Ali didn’t you?”
Mike is moping because Mona has dumped him. Emily has a chat with Mona about what’s going on and Mona admits that she made a deal to help Ezra. She dated Mike to get closer to Aria in exchange for Ezra keeping out “illegal” details of what Mona has done in the past from his book.
Mona tells Emily that Ezra believes he knows who A is. And now, so does Aria. Having read the manuscript, Aria tells the girls that Ezra believes Mrs. Dilaurentis is A.
“How old is she? does she even know how to text?”
She is awfully creepy.
