When ABC Family advertised the season finale of Ravenswood as an episode not to be missed..boy were they not kidding!
Read on for our recap of the explosive, action packed season finale of Ravenswood: “My Haunted Heart“.
Episode 10 kicks off as Hanna (Ashley Benson) shows up to town. Her hair is much longer but no one is gonna say anything about that. Kind of like how no one is pointing out the marks on Luke’s neck from when he was strangled. Hanna wants to meet Miranda (Nicole Gale Anderson), probably to kick her ass so Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) is forced to tell her the truth. He’s not allowed to say “It’s complicated.” Thank goodness.
Hanna is shocked to learn of Miranda’s fate but isn’t sure if she believes that Caleb is still talking to her. Hanna has a nice scene where she apologizes to Miranda, not sure if Miranda is able to hear her. Miranda promises to protect Caleb. It’s a sweet moment to distract us from the fact that from here on out, it’s about to go down.
Remy (Britne Oldford) and Luke (Brett Dier) try to look for information about the blind ghost they keep seeing. They learn his name is Ryan and they attempt to contact him to find out more about what happened to Luke and Olivia’s (Merritt Patterson) father. They’re shocked when it works and Ryan presents them with a vision from the night Mr. Matheson was murdered.
I really can’t describe to you how amazing Merritt Patterson and Brett Dier were in this scene. The looks on their faces as they watch their dad stabbed by Dillon (Luke Benward) absolutely broke my heart. Oh yeah, did I mention? DILLON KILLED HIM! Damn, Luke Benward what are you doing?? Thankfully, he left behind a bloody thumbprint so hopefully, down the line, he gets his.
Dillon doesn’t stop there. He knocks Remy out and drags her to the chapel in an attempt to lure the others there. Frustrated that Remy has disappeared, Caleb goes to yell at Ray Collins (Steven Cabral) some more. Ray is adamant that he was trying to protect Miranda by sending her away and that it was the hardest thing he’s ever had to do. He then explains more about how his family has been keeping the souls of the children of the pact in jars. What’s not clear is why. I’m still really confused.
What is clear is that the handsome creeper appears to be a good guy. Dillon, however, is still a butt. He lures the others into the chapel as bait for Abaddon, who appears amidst a bunch of red light. I’m scared. And so is Dillon. He runs into the forest until he meets Max, the creepy little girl in the red coat. Max then leads him to a train track where..DILLON IS RUN OVER BY A TRAIN. Am I watching ABC Family right now?? Holy crap.
Back in the chapel, Abaddon starts reciting a chant until Ray appears to stop him. He was bringing back Miranda to kill them all at once. Ray smashes one of his jars and Abaddon disappears. The soul he released belonged to Original Caleb Rivers. Original Caleb appears to Miranda and they can both feel each other. Is there a second Miranda out there? Was she reincarnated?
What is happening? Are there going to be two Calebs for season 2? Is the curse able to be broken? Do those spiders lead to the Forbidden Forest? So many questions!
