We’ve got another great group for you guys to give a listen to today. We were recently introduced to a great and ambitious duo from Austria. At just 19 years old, the MonaLisa Twins are already incredibly talented and successful. After completing their latest full length release “When We’re Together”, the girls have been releasing artistic music videos to promote their songs.
With an increasingly interesting sound that can best be described as 60s pop/rock similar to The Beatles and The Monkeys with a modern twist like British band Mcfly, we think big things are ahead for these two.
First of all, look how cute they are! They’re just adorable. While they are described as having that “British Invasion” sound, we think they employ a modern twist (kind of like She & Him but more upbeat) that really works.
The first track I gave a listen to was “This Boy Is Mine.” With this track, I definitely hear that “Beatles” sound. It actually sounded like and really reminded me of “Can’t Buy Me Love.”
I then moved on to the title track “When We’re Together.” The same sound applies here but with this track, I hear more of that modern sound I keep mentioning. In the guitar specifically, I’m reminded of Mcfly. This track comes with a great music video you can view below:
Speaking of music videos, of the handful of singles that have received the video treatment so far, I’m really enjoying this next one. “Wont You Listen Now” is a more upbeat, fun, and even Country sound. That Country sound is probably thanks to the harmonica in the background. This song is really pleasant and enjoyable. Of the songs I’ve listened to so far, this one is more of a departure from the throwback 60s sound of the others.
Their latest music video release can be seen with “Dreams.” It’s a much slower single than the others and it definitely employs that “dreamy” sound the title suggests.
Now that the duo is participating in radio and TV interviews in both the United States and the UK, here’s hoping some of these videos go viral and the MonaLisa Twins get the attention they deserve.
