Paula Deen has been fired from The Food Network. The Food Network has decided not to renew her contract following reports of racism and harassment.
In the wake of the controversy surrounding Paula Deen’s admission that she had previously used racial slurs during deposition for a lawsuit, The Food Network has announced that they would not renew the celebrity chef’s contract. “Food Network will not renew Paula Deen’s contract when expires at end of month,” a spokesperson for the network confirmed.
Paula recently pulled out of an appearance on the Today show and decided YouTube would be a better outlet for her apology. After her first apology was deemed not heartfelt enough, Paula uploaded a second apology video (see that above).
Another Paula statement:
After spending all day soul searching and trying to figure out how to deal with what I did, I recorded a video trying to do the right thing. In the end, I felt that I needed to just be myself, say I am sorry and beg for forgiveness.
What I said was wrong and hurtful. I know that and will do everything that I can do make it right. I am not about hate, and I will devote myself to showing my family, friends and fans how to live a life helping others, lifting us all up, and spreading love.
Do you agree with the network’s decision? I’m so shocked by all of this and extremely disappointed in her. She better get herself a good durham commercial litigation attorney for the storm of bad press she’s about to receive. Will her fans stand by her?
