Once Upon A Time has returned from a Winter break with one action packed episode. Full of suspense, this episode was great from start to finish. Regina has been trying to change foe Henry..but is that even possible? Will she always be evil? And just what are Cora and Hook up to? Will someone from Storybrooke pay the ultimate price for getting in the crossfire?
Check out our recap of the new episode of Once Upon A Time: The Cricket Game:
It’s Snowing
The episode kicks off with some loving family time now that everyone is back and safe at home in Storybrooke. Snow and Charming are reuniting and canoodling in bed when Henry and Emma walk in. Well, it’s almost like an initiation. It was bound to happen at some point. Awkward! Emma makes an effort to include Regina by inviting her to the big welcome back party the town is throwing. She believes that she’s trying to change. How long will that last? Not very.
Holy Cricket
The episode has a jaw dropping moment fairly early on in the episode. Regina is pissed that Archie has betrayed her trust and told Emma about their sessions. Ruby witnesses this argument and makes a mental note of it for later. Why? Because Pongo lets them all know that something bad is waiting inside Archie’s office. The night before, Regina arrived and murdered Archie.
I AM NOT HAPPY. I LOVE ARCHIE. I LOVE JIMINY.
I know, however, that it wasn’t Regina and as she walks outside and morphs into Cora, I feel vindicated. Still unhappy but, vindicated.
Don’t Tell Me What I Can’t Do
After using some of her own magic with the help of Mr. Gold, Emma is able to see that it was “Regina” in Archie’s office. They exchange words and Emma threatens to keep Henry away from her and pulls the “You’re not his real mother” card. Regina channels her inner John Locke and says “Don’t tell me what I can or can’t do!” and throws Emma back with some magic. Some things never change.
Regina certainly didn’t in Fairy Tale land. She’s captured and almost executed but Snow decides to, stupidly, give her one more chance. With the help of Rumplestiltskin, she puts a protection spell on herself to test Regina, who fails, and tries to stab her anyway. They banish her from the kingdom and she mopes about the spell. Rumply points out that it only works in this land and the rest, as you know, is history.
The Evil Odd Couple
Cora is like a dog this episode. Bringing her master a bone. Cora takes Hook to his ship to reveal the gift inside that will help him get revenge on Rumply. It’s Archie! He’s alive! She killed a random villager instead and gave him Archie’s appearance. I’m so happy right now.
What did you guys think of the episode? I thought it was a great first episode back and I’m so happy Archie wasn’t killed off. Did anyone else catch Snow say parlay and wish Grumpy was in the room when she said it?
