Person of Interest – 1×14 – Wolf and Cub – Recap
X Factor finalist Astro guest stars on this week’s episode of Person of Interest. His number is up after his brother is murdered and he wants some revenge. Reese is determined to get to him before the suspects do. It’s a bit distracting knowing that this kid is from The X Factor so his acting is all I can notice in the beginning. But this episode is so good that it is quickly pushed out of my mind.
Reese grabs Darren to try and keep him safe from the thugs who killed his brother. He’s relying on Carter to help him out because Lionel is busy following Finchy. Finch has a new desk and an office for some insurance company. How does that even happen in this economy? Better yet, why is he bothering with a second job? Doesn’t saving the world take up most of your time? Ingram’s son is back in town and he’s asking questions. Too many questions. It’s not long before Harold is concerned about how close to the truth this kid is getting.
He tracks down a woman from his dad’s past but she spins him some tale about his dad just suffering from a failed business venture. Whether she knows the truth is unclear to me at the moment. What is clear is that she doesn’t like Harold very much. Or she’s scared of him. At the mere mention of his name she books it. What is Harold’s deal? Lionel uncovers that Harold probably isn’t even his real name. Just one of many aliases. Harold was his name when he was at school in MIT with Nathan. What is he hiding? Is he still a good guy?
Darren hires Reese to do what he can’t. Basically, he’s gonna be his superhero for the day. Darren tags along and observes how Reese does what he does. This kid must have ADD or something because he runs off like 4 times. If I was hanging out with Reese, the last thing on my mind would be to leave. I’d stay as close as I could to be honest. But that’s just me. When they find the murder weapon that killed his brother, Darren takes off to use it on the bad guys. Reese and Carter show up to kick some ass but it’s Lionel who saves the day. He literally flies through the air to protect Darren and ends up getting shot in the tush. Is that the ass moment that Kevin promised us this week? LOL! We love it.
