The season finale of Smash is upon us. It’s the final showdown. Who will play Marilyn? Will Karen find out about Dev and Ivy? Will that make room for her and Derek in season 2? Or can she do better? Here is the preview promo for next week’s season finale of Smash: Bombshell.

The first previews of Bombshell are about to be shown to its first ever audience. The show is rocked by Derek sleeping with Rebecca and Dev sleeping with Ivy. How long before Karen finds out? My guess is probably next week.
During the preview, we get to see the new duet Karen and Ivy perform on. It’s interesting. All about the pressures of Hollywood and sleeping with directors. Something both of these girls are familiar with. It ends with Karen belly flopping onto some guy’s crotch. Yeah. Hm. It’s not my favorite. The ending of the show isn’t anyone’s favorite. The final scene of the show shows Marilyn committing suicide. When the curtain falls, not one person applauds. Awkward.
They have to come up with a new ending fast. This is going to be difficult because Julia isn’t speaking to Tom. She needs to get over it. He’s a good friend. And he didn’t force you to have an affair and destroy your family. You did that. Twice. Yet somehow, Julia lets Tom have it and blames him for her life. At least she was able to grow a spine and tell Michael “No.”
Dev comes back from New York to see Karen and she tells him to propose to her again. Don’t you see? She’s not in Tech! So it’s okay. Too bad he left the ring in Ivy’s room. What’s more interesting than this? An Anjelica Houston performance! And it’s fabulous. She slays them all. I love her.
In a shocking turn of events, Rebecca has her daily smoothie and is rushed to the hospital. Someone spiked it with peanuts. What the hell? Peanut allergies are the worst! You could die. Someone poisoned her. Was it Ellis? Was it Ellis and Ivy? Take Ellis instead! Rebecca tells Karen she’s too scared to go back on the stage. What does this mean for the show? Who will play Marilyn?
Bombshell is headed to Boston. We’re now at the Tech stage. Which is really a bunch of dress rehearsals while they figure out the lights and such. A hitch is thrown into their already hectic schedule when their Joe Dimaggio quits. Their best option is to bring back Michael. Julia isn’t going to like that at all. When Tom finally breaks the news to her, she refuses to come back. She gives them an ultimatum. It’s him or her.
Eileen is already over all of Julia’s crap. While it’s understandable that her family is fragile because she just got back together with Frank, the entire production shouldn’t be penalized because she had an affair. Can’t they just avoid each other? In the end, while Julia is lying in bed with a huge bunch of bananas that she’s like, dipping in peanut butter or something, Frank and Leo tell her to suck it up and go to Boston. It’ll be okay because they’re going with her. Something tells me that happiness won’t last long.
My first impression of this Tech thing is what fabulous hotel rooms these backup dancers are staying in. For a show that was worried about money they sure treat their cast well. Derek treats everyone well. Ivy is worried about this. After Derek lets slip to Ivy that he loves her, she becomes increasingly paranoid about Rebecca. Rebecca is super nervous about her debut and demands attention and compliments from Derek’s accent. It’s his birthday so she even comes on stage, dressed as Marilyn, and does the famous Happy Birthday. It’s not long before they get too close for comfort in her dressing room while her skeezy manager blocks the door from Ivy. Gross. I bet that happens in Hollywood every day.
And then there’s Karen and Dev. Things are already rocky between them because of Karen’s dream and Dev’s horny co-worker. It doesn’t help that she shows up to his apartment with alcohol. Even Stevie Wonder could see this coming. They make out on the couch until Dev stops it from going any further. His solution to all of this is traveling to Boston to propose to Karen. Yeah. Cheating is a great reason to get married.
Karen basically immediately says no “because she’s in Tech.” I don’t..get this logic. You can’t be engaged when you’re in dress rehearsals? It’s not like he was asking her to drop everything and run off to Vegas to get hitched immediately. All he was asking was for her to put a ring on her finger. But when he confesses to cheating, it doesn’t help her reaction at all. So much so that after an awkward sing-off in which Ivy sings the blues about Derek screwing Rebecca, she ends up drunk at a bar with a drunk Dev. And they both want some sort of revenge. Yeah. This is gonna get dirty.
Looks like they have a lot on her plate next week. She gets a shocking proposal from Dev and Julia threatens to walk from Marilyn after being told Michael may be coming back. Here is the preview promo video for Smash’s next episode: Tech.

Rebecca’s rewrites and lack of musical talent has the team struggling to keep it together. When she asks to hang out with Karen, everyone wonders why. She treats Karen to her glamorous lifestyle and begins to butter her up. What is she up to?
She asks Karen to sing for her at a club. She’s checking out her competition. A wailing baby on Youtube could be competition for her. But unfortunately for Rebecca, Karen sounds amazing on this song. I don’t think that’s what she wanted to hear. However, she hugs her new BFF and possible lesbian lover and even suggests her for the new song that was added to the show.
She goes out to dinner at an Indian restaurant with Karen and Dev and instigates an argument that Dev will get in the way of her being a star. Is she trying to unravel Karen’s life? Karen zones out during this and suddenly there’s a Bollywood musical number. I don’t really know what’s happening. Karen is quite possibly having a seizure or something. Her boyfriend looks hot while he’s dancing so I’m okay with this. More of him please.
Julia, Frank, and Tom are rocked when Leo disappears and runs away for three days. They finally find him sleeping at a friend’s house and all is okay. He’s not in a ditch or anything. Leo comes home and Julia and Frank are able to hug it out and act like a family for a little while. How long will it last?
Who wants more of evil Ivy? She’s more likeable than Ellis so bring it on! Ivy asks Ellis to text Karen not to come in for the day. As luck would have it, Derek has just told off Rebecca for being annoying and he has zero patience. He asks Ivy to sing the song instead. She sounds fantastic. It’s amazing and beautiful. They should just make her Marilyn already. Eileen is crying it’s so good!
Everyone is moved by the performance and heads actually roll when Rebecca suggests that she sing it instead. LOL.
Wasn’t there supposed to be a scene where someone needed an ambulance and couldn’t breathe? They kept referring to Rebecca’s peanut allergy all night so I was sure someone was going to poison her smoothies. Did they take it out?
