Are we heading to Neverland?
Check out our recap of tonight’s season finale of Once Upon A Time: “And Straight On ‘Til Morning.”
Recap:
Young Bae and Captain Hook’s past is revealed. After rescuing a young Baelfire from the sea, Hook learns the identity of Bae’s father. Not wanting to give him up to the Big Bad of Neverland, he protects him on his ship from the creepy Lost Boys. This certainly isn’t a Disney tale. Neverland is creepy. The Lost Boys are creepy. I am going to assume that Peter Pan is creepy as well because whoever he is “rips your shadow from your body”. This same mysterious “He” wants Bae. I’m not at all surprised that Peter Pan is the bad guy. He was such a douche in that movie. I loved all of the scenes on the ship though. We got to see a new side to Hook and some emotional acting from Colin. I loved it.
Over in Storybrooke, sh*t just got real. Greg and Tamara have activated the trigger that will destroy Storybrooke and everyone in it. The town has begun to look like a scene from Jumanji as it slowly turns back into the forest it once was. Not wanting her son to end up alone, because he was born there, Regina sacrifices herself to save the others. She uses all of her energy to slow the trigger down while they hunt for one of the last remaining magic beans to portal them all the hell out of there.
Mr. Gold learns the truth about what happened to his son and he’s heartbroken. He believes it to be his fault and isn’t putting up a fight to save his own life. Awww Robert. The Blue Fairy has created a remedy to revive the memories lost from Belle and the dwarf. Using a hair of Pinocchio. Mr. Gold wakes up his true love so she doesn’t die as Lacey. Awww. Cheers with McCutcheon!
Luckily enough, Hook and Charming are able to snag one magic bean. Tamara and Greg have the other. Our gang wants to send the diamond through a portal in the hopes it will save Storybrooke. Unfortunately for them, Hook steals the bean out from under them and takes off on his ship once he learns who Henry’s father is. Even luckier, it’s apparently super easy to stop this diamond thing from exploding. All Emma has to do is hold her hands over it and no boom. The town is saved! But Henry isn’t.
Henry is kidnapped by Greg and Tamara who have learned that their employer is very interested in him. UGH. Does this sound familiar to anyone else? An annoying, special kid that some mysterious group wants? Maybe we’ll get lucky and he’ll disappear just like WAAAAAAAAAAAALT did.
Back in the flashback with Baby Bae, the Lost Boys attempt to deliver him to the mysterious “He.” Only he isn’t the boy He’s looking for. They have a drawing of Henry. This is once again confirmed as Greg, Tamara, and Henry jump through a portal to Neverland.
Hook returns, unable to live with himself for being selfish and together, they all sail through a portal to Neverland. Over in another realm, Phillip, Mulan, and Aurora come across an unconscious Neal on the beach.
