True Blood – Cold Grey Light of Dawn – Recap
The last episode ended with Tommy lying presumably dead on the floor after shifting into Sam and fooling everyone in Sam’s life. Sam takes him to the hospital and thinks it’s just a bad case of food poisoning. When Luna wants nothing to do with Sam, the two of them figure out what actually happened. Sam pounces on a sleeping Tommy and almost chokes him to death. He wants Tommy out of his life for good. It’s hard to feel bad for Tommy. Here he is, crying and sobbing saying he didn’t mean it and you can tell he really wants to be with Sam..but then he goes and does stuff like this and you want to smack him.
Jesus is alive (for now at least) and he reveals that Lafayette is a medium. This is all news to Lafayette but would explain all those visions he’s been having lately. What’s even more interesting, is that while no one else may see these visions, Arlene’s baby appears to be able to. Hmm. What is up with that baby? There is a lot of supernatural business going on. Debbie and Alcide are initiated into their new pack and walk in on Eric and Sookie doing it in the woods. Debbie is upset because she believes that Alcide is in love with Sookie. I love their chemistry but I do wonder what they’re doing with them when she already has Eric and Bill fighting over her. Thank you for the Alcide sex scene though writers.
Eric and Sookie are in the honeymoon phase of their relationship and Eric doesn’t want things to change. He doesn’t want his memory back because he fears Sookie wouldn’t want him anymore after all the things he’s done to her. Let’s be honest, it’s true. They have other things to worry about however. Drunk unstable Tara is back after being attacked by Pam and a newly posessed Marnie meets her in the woods. Antonia is now in Marnie’s body and recruits Tara and a group of followers to take out vampires once and for all. Their plan is to summon them all to sunlight so they burn. Oh no.
Bill is prepared and orders all of his subjects and vampire friends to be bound by silver chains in their coffins during the night. It’s a fighting chance so they are able to stay put once the spell hits. Bill brings some chains to give Eric and it looks like it pains him to act like he cares. Why is Sookie letting him in the house? He was a royal douche to her. Bill is even more pained when he has to chain Jessica who screams in pain. He’s unable to see his baby vampire in pain and only gives her enough chains so that she’s tied “good enough.”
The spell finally hits and vampires begin to meet the sun. Eric and Bill fight against the chains to get out and Jessica is the only one who is successful. Jason runs to Bill’s house to save her when he realizes what’s happening. A guard stops him outside before he can get to her. Jessica happily opens the door to meet the sun just as we hear a gunshot from outside.
