The search for new American Idol judges may have just gotten shorter. According to recent reports, Mariah Carey is nearing a deal to become the newest judge on the panel. She would be asking for 17 million dollars, more than Jennifer Lopez had been paid. Why didn’t they just pay Jen then? Seems like an awful lot of money to sit in a chair. I’m majorly jealous.
If Randy stays, who else would you like to see on the panel?
Look at her dress. I can’t imagine how much that costs. All those jewels and beads. I’d need like, wholesale bead.
Sad news if you were a fan of either Steven Tyler or Jennifer Lopez on American Idol. It looks like both of their chairs at the judges table will be empty when the reality show returns. Steven Tyler recently gave his statement on why he’s deciding to focus more on his music and it looks like Jennifer is doing the same. AKA they got the publicity they needed from the show.
Jennifer was on Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show and confirmed what has already been suspected.

Rumor has it a judge on the popular FOX reality show American Idol will not be returning next season. Even more intriguing: American Idol‘s own Adam Lambert has been in talks for the past month to become the new judge.
I’ve been hearing that Randy Jackson is the judge not returning. If that were the case, I’d be really shocked. Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler both have hectic schedules with new albums and tours coming up.
What do you think of this news? Would you like to see Adam join the show? Which judge would you like to be replaced?
Doctors better wake up and get out of their Nursing Pajamas to tend to the extremely excited Idol fans if this is the case.
If I had to choose which judge to replace, I would probably pick Jennifer.
Oh no! We hate reading about the pain Phillip Phillips has been in during his run on American Idol. According to TMZ, his problems may have gotten worse as his doctor has urged him to undergo surgery as soon as the show is over. The recovery time would have his missing tour rehearsals and possibly some shows. I can see him missing some rehearsals but hopefully he’s feeling better by the time the tour kicks off this Summer.
From TMZ:
Phillip Phillips — one of the finalists on “American Idol” — has been URGED by his personal doctor to get surgery immediately … but Phillip wants to work through the pain and the risk so he can win next week.
Multiple “Idol” sources tell us … when Phillip went back home to Georgia last Saturday … his family doctor spent almost the entire stay by his side and was alarmed by what he saw — Phillip wasn’t eating and looked horrible.
Phillip suffers from severe kidney problems and at the beginning of the competition it got so bad he had a stent put in as a temporary fix until he could have surgery. But the condition has worsened and Phillip’s doc told him he needed surgery now. Phillip said he was not going to drop out of the show so the doctor told him he ABSOLUTELY had to go under the knife immediately after the finale.
We’re told the recovery time for the surgery is at least 6 weeks.
Phillip’s condition is taking its toll — we’re told the medication causes dry mouth, and it’s had some impact on his singing.
Phillip has also missed some of the field productions that are shot for the show — including the Ford commercials. Our “Idol” sources tell us they felt that making him go on location for these shoots were just too taxing.
It’s homecoming weekend for the top 3 on Season 11 of American Idol! Phillip Phillips was not only greeted by fans at the airport when he arrived, but also gave his first interview with FOX 31 there. The celebration was a big one today and included a parade, a trip to his father’s pawn shop, and a free concert where Phillip performed Superstition, Still Rainin’, Nice and Slow, Thriller, Volcano, and Along The Watchtower. Is this a sneak peek at this setlist for the Idols Live Tour?

American Idol fans are amazing and scary during homecoming weekends. I remember when Scotty McCreery went home to Raleigh for his and it was insane. He almost needed some
