Happy 4th of July!
I paid a visit to my local comic book shop on Wednesday (because it was, of course, the wedding of Batman and Catwoman, and the shop was having a party), but also to pick up my weekly comics. One of the (many) comics I subscribe to is The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, so the shop also bestowed upon me this treasure:
Marvel Rising – Squirrel Girl & Ms. Marvel [Variant Edition]
This is my first exposure to Ms. Marvel (since Carol Danvers is now Captain Marvel), and it was lovely to get to meet her as her Kamala Khan iteration! Let’s be real, Kamala is pretty awesome… a wildly intelligent young Pakistani-American woman with the biggest, brightest smile you’ve ever seen. (Kamala’s introductory comic
won a Hugo— how freaking awesome is that?!)

It’s Flashback Friday, you guys!
It’s a week shy of two years since I first introduced you to Charlie Rose, and he’s finally back with the first single off his new EP, Pull Up.
The Orlando-based artist has taken things in a new direction, both name-wise and stylistically, now producing music under the moniker COGNAC&ROSES.

Kari Walhgren is a woman whose face you may not yet know, but you might recognize her voice, especially if you’ve ever seen shows like Rick and Morty, The Fairly Oddparents, or Disney’s The Lion Guard! Kari is a voice actress and has done work on some pretty amazing creations that span all genres; she’s one of those people who brings life to a character that previously only existed in a 2-D space. We were given an opportunity to speak to Kari about what it’s like to do voice acting, how she prepares for roles, and her upcoming projects. Check it out after the jump!

This week, I had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Jason Bell of Star Trek Beyond. A combat veteran who served in Afghanistan, he has had roles in shows like Arrow, The Flash, Smallville, and Once Upon A Time. He’s been an unsung double in many of your favorite movies as well, such as Man of Steel, Godzilla, X-Men Days of Future Past, and Deadpool. In addition to excelling at stunt work, he’s also a certified PADI diver, and he plays delta blues guitar in his spare time. You can currently see him as Captain Kirk’s right-hand man in Star Trek Beyond, out July 22. Check out the hilariously entertaining interview after the jump!

Boston reporter John Steadman, covering the horrors of that night, learns about the ship and its complete inaction. Unlike the other reporters, he is not content to let it stand. Thinking of the twelve hundred people who died that night (including fifty-three children, whose names no one can be bothered to utter), he dons disguises and travels thousands of miles to uncover the truth: How could the SS Californian see every one of Titanic’s eight distress rockets and do nothing? The Midnight Watch by David Dyer, based on actual articles and dispositions of the time, aims to delve into the mind of those responsible and find out the truth.
