Once again, Teen Wolf is down to the last few episodes of an awesome season, and once again they are putting us through the ringer to get there. You ready? The episode kicks off right where the last one ended. Nogitsune Stiles and Sheriff Stilinski in Derek’s loft. They are soon followed by Allison, Mr. Argent and Derek rushing in to try and take him down. Each of them tries in their own way, but none of them are able to stop him. There’s a tense moment between Mr. Stilinski and Mr. Argent when Mr. Argent disregards his promise to the Sheriff from a previous episode to protect Stiles and aims to kill him. The moment is only interrupted when the Oni appear to take Stiles and Stiles reveals that his plan was for the others to protect him from the Oni. Scott and Kira don’t get there in time to help. The Oni have already disappeared taking Stiles with them.
Stiles is once again in the basement of the Eichen House, where Mrs. Yuklmura is there waiting for him. When she goes to attack him with her knife, he snatches the blade and stabs himself, a sinister look in his eyes. His words are ominous: Chaos has come again. From the place in his stomach he stabbed the knife, a swarm of flies come rushing out and they all take off. The feeling is scary. We already know what just one of those flies is capable of. At the hospital where Isaac is still hasn’t woken up, a fly enters Isaac through his arm and he suddenly wakes up.
Back at Scott’s house, Kira is staying over for the night. Ever the gentleman, Scott settles into an armchair allowing Kira to sleep on the bed. Kira however, insists that she would much rather share the bed with him, and the two finally share their first kiss, before Kira rolls over and curls into him. What they don’t notice though, is that there is a fly outside tapping on the window.
As Mr. Argent and Allison enter their apartment, Allison asks her father if he would have shot Stiles. He says that he honestly doesn’t know, and Allison admits that she tampered with his gun so that he couldn’t harm Stiles. Instead of being angry though, he seems to admire her wisdom. He touches her cheek affectionately and says that that is why the women are the leaders in the Argent family. As Allison enters her room, Issac is sitting there on the bed waiting for her. Relieved to see that he is okay, they share a kiss, though it is clear to the audience that something about him is off.
At Derek’s place, he stands over a chessboard trying to recreate the scenario Nogitsune Stiles had left behind in the Stilinski house. He explains what he’s doing to Peter, but Peter says that Derek is playing the wrong game. Chess is Stiles’ game, not the Nogitsune’s. The Nogitsune has no rules and follows no human code. He again warns that the Nogitsune is a trickster spirit above all else. He finally points out that Derek’s wound from the Oni sword is not healing, and makes a clever remark about disinfecting the wound before leaving. Derek doesn’t notice the fly that crawls into his wound.
In the boys locker room at school Danny and Ethan are just coming in from some lacrosse practice. Ethan expresses to Danny that Beacon Hills might not be the place for he and his brother anymore. As he scoops up water in his hands to splash his face, a fly slips into the water and into him. His demeanor suddenly changes and even Danny senses the difference asking if he is alright. Ethan shrugs it off. In Lydia’s car she and Aiden are driving around and she suddenly has a minor panic attack, swerving around, until she sees Stiles’ wounded body laying in the middle of the road. As she and Aiden jump out to help him a fly sneaks into Aiden’s ear.
In the morning, Isaac is poring over Allison’s weapons. He wants to kill the twins, but Allison isn’t on board. She tell him that everyone has agreed to forgive them and just let it go. Isaac leaves, and as Allison gets up to go with him, she finds she’s been chained to the bed. Sheriff Stilinki prepares to go to a hearing that will determine if he will continue to be the Sheriff. (Remember that Agent McCall was trying to get him fired) Stiles is taken to Scott’s house where Deaton gives him kanima venom to paralyze him whole they try to figure out a a plan to save them. Lydia suggests that they try asking Peter. Peter believes that they have to find a way to get into Stiles’ head and save him from the inside out instead of turning him into a werewolf. Peter agrees to help Lydia and Scott get into Stiles’ head as long as Lydia tell him who his daughter is.
When Lydia and Scott wake up in Stiles’ head, they find themselves in the eerily familiar Eichen House. While all this is happening a possessed Derek confronts Mr. Argent at his house about the tragic death of his family due to Kate. During their confrontation he even throws lighter fluid on Mr. Agrent and pulls out a lighter to threaten him with the same death that his family was sentenced to.
At the school, the twins are fighting each other under the influence of the Nogitsune. And when possessed Isaac arrives, it only gets worse. The three continue to brawl, and Isaac is winning. Just as he’s about to kill both of them Allison and Kira show up to stop them. (Awesome fight scene with these two. So much fun to watch!)
Back in Stiles’ head Lydia and Scott get separated. Lydia is back at homecoming night where she was bit by Peter. Scott is back in a memory of he and Allison kissing inside a closet. Luckily Peter is able to help them both realize that these illusions are just tricks of the Nogitsune. Scott is able to shake his clear and says to the illusion that she’s just a trick. She starts shaking, and Scott is freed from the illusion. With Lydia free from her illusion too, they manage to get to a large white room where Stiles’ sits playing a game called Go with the Nogitsune.
During the hearing Agent McCall surprisingly defends Sheriff Stilinski and later reveals that he was pushing the impeachment for his own personal desire to have a reason to stay around and be with Scott. Sheriff Stilinski says that it’s time Agent McCall let Scott in on the secret. It appears to be the same secret that Nogitsune Stiles’ admits to Melissa that he overheard a long time ago. And that the only reason he never told Scott is because he knew Scott would hate her.
In Stiles’ head, he can’t hear Lydia or Scott calling for him, and as much as they run they can’t get any closer. Finally Lydia says that Stiles’ may be human, but he’s still a part of Scott’s pack. Scott finally resorts to howling at Stiles to wake the real him up. When Stiles’ finally recognizes himself he destroys the go board, and as he does so, Lydia and Scott wake up once again. Lydia finally tells Peter that Malia is his daughter, and it is only after she says that name, does finally Stiles’ physical body wake up.
But the Nogitsune is a trickster above all things.
He begins throwing up bandages, pulling a long one out of his throat. And then out of the bandages a bandaged man, looking just like the Nogitsune appears. Scott and Peter hold him down, until they pull off the bandages and realize it’s Stiles. The Stiles that threw up the bandages was actually the Nogitsune throwing up the real Stiles. And by the time everyone turns around, the Nogitsune disguised as Stiles is already gone.
And he took Lydia with him.
This episode was pure insanity, but awesome right? Can’t wait for these final two episodes. It’s going to be nuts.
