Read on for our exclusive interview with Sarah Dugdale below:
To start off, can you talk a little about what initially inspired you to get into acting and entertainment?
I started out dancing competitively and performing in school musicals. There is nothing like the feeling of being on stage in front of a crowd. As time went on I realized that acting was something I not only loved doing, but also wanted to pursue for the rest of my life.
Is there anyone that has influenced or inspired you? Or anyone that you’d love to work with some day, if you could pick anyone?
I would love to work alongside Julianne Moore. She seems to pick such wonderful, diverse, challenging pieces to work on. From her performance in Magnolia to her work on 30 Rock, she is always inspiring to watch.
You have two movies premiering this year on The Movie Network as well as the Lifetime Original Movie Stolen Daughter. Can you talk a little about your roles in each and what attracted you to them?
Stolen Daughter is about a teenage girl who gets abducted and her mother, who is a detective, must find her before it’s too late. I play Sarah Wilkins, the stolen daughter. I loved the challenge of playing a victim of abduction. Sugarbabies was a very different role for me mostly due to the subject matter: University girls having relationships with older men in exchange for money. I play Rochelle Cranston, a business major that is persuaded to become a sugar baby by her best friend. Sorority Murder is a fun little thriller about the murder of the president of a sorority. I play Gabrielle, a member of the sorority who is tougher then she seems.
What can fans expect from the premieres? What are you most excited for them to see?
I am really excited for people to see the diversity of these roles and the range of my acting. I love that I get to play a variety of challenging, strong female roles.

What do you enjoy most about taking on this type of genre? Are there any challenges?
I love the challenge of the serious subject matter. I feel an obligation to dig deep, research the subject matter, and bring part of myself into every role in order to play these parts as genuinely as possible.
Is there another type of role or project you’d love to tackle some day?
I would love to do a comedy! I love the genre; especially dry comedy, which I think comes from my British roots.
How has the support been for you on social media so far?
Support has been great! People have been super positive. I’m excited for support to grow with the release of these upcoming projects.
What can your fans expect from you next? What else are you working on?
I have a movie coming out called The Hollow around Halloween on SyFy channel. I love the horror genre and had such a bloody good time getting to work in it!
We’d like to thank Sarah Dugdale for answering some questions for us! We really appreciate it!
