Actress Eva Bourne can next be seen in Hallmark Channel’s hit series “When Calls The Heart” when it returns for a second season on April 25th. She will also be starring alongside Lori Loughlin in the Hallmark Channel Original Movie “Garage Sale Mystery: The Deadly Room”.
We had the chance to chat with Eva about everything coming up for her. Check out our exclusive interview with Eva Bourne below:
To start off, can you talk a little about how you got into acting and entertainment? Has anyone influenced or inspired you as an actor?
I got into it by making rash decisions and a little luck at first, really. Clicking with the right people. Once I signed with my first agent the real diligence and perseverance began. I’m inspired all the time by many different people, people in my life and also complete strangers sometimes, but I’d say the first person I remember who encouraged me to come out of my shell and kind of cultivated me to have an interest in storytelling was my grade 9 drama teacher Mr. Donaldson.
As your resume continues to grow, is there anyone you would love to work with someday, if you could pick anyone?
Always a tricky question. There are a lot of great artists out there I’d love to work with. Right now I’m watching a lot of Alex Perry Ross’s films, and I would love to work with him.
You can next be seen as part of Hallmark’s hit series “When Calls The Heart” when it returns for season 2. What can you tell viewers about what to expect from your role?
Lots of ups and downs. my character Clara is embarking on a new path in her life, and so she’s learning a lot through trial and error, and with a lot of help from Abigail.
What attracted you to “When Calls The Heart” in particular?
I’ve always wanted to do a period piece, so that was a big factor in my excitement. The story of “When Calls The Heart” felt really grounded, and thats something I gravitate towards.
What can you tease about what fans of the series can expect when the show returns for a new season?
Oh, man. I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll just say: Love is in the air.
Can you talk a little about your upcoming role in the Hallmark Channel Original Movie “Garage Sale Mystery: The Deadly Room” (April 26th 2015)?
I play Hannah, who is the daughter of Jennifer (Lori Loughlin). Hannah’s come home from College in hopes of learning a thing or two about buying and selling for the antique shop that Jen and Dani run, but of course things are never as easy as they seem. She really looks up to Jen, which isn’t hard to do when you’re working with someone like Lori.
You team up with Lori Loughlin for both of these projects. How has it been working with her?
Its been great. She’s so smart. I remember one time Neil and Grizz were trying to figure out the best way to get the next shot without having to do a completely new set up, and she casually gives them a suggestion and they’re like “Oh! Yeah…why didn’t we think of that.” Haha. She’s amazing.
Have there been any challenges you’ve faced while filming your latest projects?
Getting up when the rest of the world is still asleep.
How has the fan support been so far?
It’s been pretty great! I mean I’m a new character, so no one knows who I am yet, but the Hearties are solid. Such a loyal following, which is great to see, and why the show is succeeding. So thank you Hearties!
What’s next for you? Is there anything else that you’re working on?
Lots of projects in the mix. For now I’m focusing on the next Garage Sale Mystery script, and tapings for L.A.
Thank you so much to Eva Bourne for taking the time to interview with us! We really appreciate it. Be sure to check out the Hallmark Channel for her latest projects!
