Ravenswood returned with the Winter premiere episode this week. Kicking off the second half of the first season, the show delved deeper into what the heck is going out with these ghosts and the pact.
Check out our recap of Ravenswood: “Revival” here:
The episode opens with a flashback scene of Original Caleb and Original Miranda getting hot and heavy in the woods. The US had just declared war on Germany so, why not? It’s not long before something distracts them on their walk home. They overhear a reverend having a conversation with the town elders. Original Miranda’s mother is there, trying to put a stop to their plans. Unfortunately, they’re men. And they think that they know best. In this case, a pact to protect the people of Ravenswood from a war is best. But why would trading innocent lives be for the best?
Now that Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) is home from his visit to Rosewood, Remy (Britne Oldford) fills him on everything he missed. She shares discovering the father of Original Caleb was one of the bodies in the vault along with Original Miranda’s mother. While they pour over the evidence left to them, everything bursts into flames and all that is left is a locket.
Remy is pretty busy in this episode. Her and Luke (Brett Dier) are back together and he’s still insistent on protecting her. Thanks to this town, she’s going to need it. Caleb tells Miranda (Nicole Gale Anderson) that he broke up with his girlfriend Hanna for her but he’s not that happy about it. The two of them are still tip toeing around their feelings. He has a bit of a ‘tude and his confusion is making him unlikeable this week. Lastly, in the relationships department, Olivia’s boyfriend Dillon is still shady and hanging out with the mysterious creepy little girl. He manages to find time to do the deed with Olivia on the side, though. Priorities!
Poor Miranda. She ponders her eternal virginity in between stalking Mrs. Grunwald from the beyond. After unpleasantly discovering Ray Collins (Steven Cabral) in their house, Olivia encourages Miranda to find out what she can about the mysterious jars Ray is keeping hidden. Miranda gets a shock when something continues to attack her and she realizes that Mrs. Grunwald not only can control it, but she “loves” it. What the hell?
Remy’s nightmares are getting worse and they are leading to more sleepwalking. Believing these nightly trips to be beneficial, she asks her friends to make sure nothing spiritual and creepy tries to wake her up. More than once, a scarecrow appears to Remy to disturb her dreams. Scarecrows are so creepy.
During her final sleepwalking trip, Remy is able to see the pact being signed. Thomas Rivers signs the papers and the preacher walks outside to hand it off. In a twist, he hands it to someone that is implied to be connected to the Collins family. Then, the preacher turns into a raven.
Why are people in this town turning into birds?? Why is this pact so important? Is it really only about protecting their soldiers? What do you guys think Dillon is up to with the little girl?
