We already knew that Merritt Patterson was a sweetheart and we’ve been watching Nicole Gale Anderson for years, so we were really looking forward to this one! We’re thrilled to say that we had the opportunity to catch up with both Merritt and Nicole on the red carpet for ABC Family’s 2013 25 Days of Christmas Winter Wonderland event in New York City.
The duo stopped to chat with us about the new episodes of Ravenswood premiering in January. They reveal what to expect in season 1b, including how Olivia will deal with the mystery surrounding her father’s murder, the latest revelation about Dillon, if Miranda will be staying on “the other side”, and what else fans can look forward to when ‘Ravenswood’ returns.
Following the red carpet, the stars of ABC Family were invited to try their luck on the ice at the iconic ice rink at Rockefeller Center!
Ravenswood returns on Tuesday, January 7th 2014 at 9/8c on ABC Family.

Full Interview Transcript:
Pop City Life: Are you guys excited about the second half of the season?
Merritt Patterson: There’s a lot of ups and downs and roller coasters. There’s answers, which is great. I think everyone is needing some answers.
Nicole Gale Anderson: We actually come back on my favorite episode. We find out the origins of the pact and who is behind it. We get to put a face to the bad guy. We can finally say “Okay, this is who we’re after.” It was my favorite because I got to do a lot of flashbacks as Original Miranda.
Pop City Life: You guys have had the short end of the stick. Miranda is dead and Olivia’s dad was murdered. We just found out that Dillon is up to something.
Merritt: Yeah, we leave knowing he’s working with that little girl, who is adorable in real life. She gets on set and she puts on her creepy, sinister look.
Nicole: She said she got her demonic, evil face from some anime television show.
Merritt: The audience finds out that Dillon is working with Max. Olivia doesn’t find that out for a couple of episodes but she starts to put things together. She knows something is up.
Pop City Life: Will we learn more about Olivia’s father’s murder and the connection with Ray?
Merritt: Steven is great. He’s so wonderful in person and he does a good job of playing Creepy Collins.
Nicole: Absolutely. You learn more about his character as the season progresses. I think you’ll see a more vulnerable side to him as well, especially in the scenes with your mom…
Merritt: And with me. I have a few scenes with him that are pretty intense. She (Olivia) kind of takes a stand to him.
Nicole: They go head to head in a couple moments. The last couple of episodes are really big for the Mathesons. All their drama revolving around the murder and who did it…and especially with Brett’s character. Luke is a loose cannon. When everything hits the ceiling things really, really go wrong.
I heard a rumor that you, Nicole, may not be staying in the afterlife. Will we be seeing you in any other forms?
Nicole: It’s kind of addressed in the season finale of whether or not Miranda can or cannot come back… or if she will or if she has to wait. I’m right there with you, I’d love a wardrobe change.
